iQOO launched the iQOO 15 Ultra in China on February 4, 2026, positioning it as a gaming-first flagship. Its headline features include a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a dedicated Q3 gaming chip, a built-in cooling fan, pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers and a 7,400mAh battery. China sales were reported to begin February 10; no global launch or international price has been confirmed in the available information.
China price and availability
The phone was announced in China, with preorders opening at launch and sales reported from February 10, 2026. iQOO calls it a performance-focused “Ultra” flagship; that is the company’s positioning, not a formal industry category.
There are two useful price references. Launch coverage reported introductory prices, while vivo’s current China specification page lists higher recommended prices. Promotions and China’s national subsidy can affect what eligible buyers actually pay, so check the seller’s current price and terms rather than treating either figure as universal.

Gaming hardware goes beyond a fast processor
The iQOO 15 Ultra uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 3nm platform with an eight-core CPU listed by vivo as two cores running at up to 4.6GHz and six at up to 3.62GHz, alongside an Adreno 840 GPU. Configurations pair it with LPDDR5X Ultra Pro memory and UFS 4.1 storage, with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
For gaming, the more distinctive addition is iQOO’s Q3 esports chip. The company says it supports graphics processing features such as real-time 2K upscaling, ray tracing and frame interpolation. These are not universal switches that make every game render at a higher resolution or frame rate: availability depends on supported games, modes and software, and some functions may require an OTA update. Similarly, 24GB of RAM is most useful for multitasking and keeping apps available; it does not by itself guarantee higher game performance.
Inside the cooling system, iQOO combines an active fan—reported as a 17 × 17mm, 59-blade unit—with an 8,000mm² vapor chamber, graphite layers and aerogel insulation. Active cooling may help the phone sustain performance during long sessions, but it adds a moving part and air passages. Fan noise, dust exposure and long-term maintenance are practical trade-offs alongside the potential thermal benefit. iQOO’s temperature and performance figures are manufacturer tests under stated conditions, not a promise of the same result in every game, room or network environment.

The phone also includes a dual-axis haptic motor, a reported 500Hz gyroscope and high touch-response modes, including up to 480Hz multi-finger sampling in supported settings. Those features can be useful for players who want trigger-style controls or motion input, but game compatibility and configuration still matter.

2K, 144Hz display—with brightness figures in context
The flat display measures 6.85 inches and has a reported 3168 × 1440 resolution. It is a Samsung-developed M14 LEAD OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. A high refresh rate can make supported games and interface motion look smoother, but the game must offer a suitable frame-rate mode and the phone must sustain it.
iQOO lists up to 8,000 nits of local peak brightness, 2,600 nits for full-screen peak brightness and 1,000 nits of manual peak brightness. These are different measurements: the 8,000-nit local peak is not the brightness expected across the whole display in ordinary use. The specifications also include a 118% P3 color-area figure, 2,160Hz PWM dimming at low brightness and DC dimming at high brightness. iQOO describes its polarizer-free design as an eye-comfort feature, but that is a product claim, not medical evidence.
The Q3 chip’s upscaling and up-to-120fps interpolation claims likewise apply only in supported games and modes. They should not be read as a guarantee that every title runs natively at 120fps, or at the panel’s full 144Hz refresh rate. iQOO’s product page includes conditions and qualifications for its display and gaming features.

The phone has a 7,400mAh typical-capacity battery; vivo lists its rated capacity as 7,240mAh. The company describes it as a second-generation semi-solid battery using fourth-generation silicon-anode technology. Charging specifications are 100W wired and 40W wireless. The official page also lists PD/PPS charging up to 55W under compatible conditions, so a third-party USB-C charger should not be assumed to deliver the phone’s full 100W rate.

A direct-power gaming mode is intended to supply power during play while reducing battery stress, and the included cable is described as L-shaped to interfere less with a landscape grip. Actual charging speed depends on the charger, cable, temperature, battery level and software controls. Buyers importing the phone should verify which charger is included, its plug and voltage compatibility, and whether a suitable wireless charger is available to them.

The rear camera system is more substantial on paper than that of many gaming-focused phones: a 50MP Sony IMX921 main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 107-degree field of view, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom. Digital zoom goes up to 100×. The front camera is 32MP. Reported video limits are up to 8K from the rear cameras and 4K from the front.
Those specifications do not establish image quality. Autofocus, low-light performance, stabilization, color processing and video reliability need to be judged from independent testing; the hardware list alone does not show that the phone is a camera leader.

The handset is approximately 163.65 × 76.80 × 8.70mm and weighs about 227g, before adding a case. Other listed features include IP68 and IP69 dust- and water-resistance ratings for the phone, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and dual-SIM 5G. iQOO gives the fan and air-channel water-resistance claims separate IPX8/IPX9 ratings under controlled conditions. IP ratings are laboratory classifications, not a guarantee against every liquid incident; protection may diminish with wear, and liquid damage may not be covered by warranty. Do not deliberately submerge or rinse the phone, especially while it is charging.

OriginOS and the import question
Launch coverage reported Android 16-based OriginOS 6 on the China model. Its gaming tools include a Game Space-style dashboard, casting at up to 2K/60fps and streaming features. iQOO specifies one-tap streaming for Douyin, not every streaming service, and high-frame-rate streaming is limited to selected games. Some functions may arrive or change through software updates.
For buyers outside China, a China-market phone is not automatically equivalent to a locally sold Android handset. Google Play and other Google services, language options, regional defaults, notifications, banking apps, Android Auto, wearable support, voice assistants and streaming DRM can vary by firmware and seller. Do not assume a global ROM, easy ROM switching or a particular update schedule. Before buying, ask the seller for the exact model and software build and verify the apps and services you rely on.
Check the exact model number against your carrier’s LTE and 5G bands; dual-SIM 5G support does not prove compatibility with every network. Also establish whether the warranty is manufacturer-backed in your country or only offered by the reseller, and how repairs would work. A discounted import can carry costs in taxes, accessories, shipping or support that are not apparent in the handset price.
Who is it for?
The iQOO 15 Ultra makes most sense for China-based buyers who play demanding games for long sessions and specifically want built-in shoulder controls, active cooling, a large battery and a high-refresh-rate 2K display. It also stands out among gaming-oriented phones for offering wireless charging and a versatile-looking camera specification.
It is a more complicated choice for an international buyer who needs guaranteed Google services, local carrier compatibility, Android Auto, straightforward repairs or a local warranty. Casual gamers may not benefit enough from the fan and controls to justify the premium, while camera-first buyers should wait for image testing. At roughly 227g, it is also a large, heavy everyday phone.
Verdict
This is a genuinely gaming-oriented flagship, not just a conventional phone with a fast display: its active fan, dedicated Q3 chip, shoulder triggers and large battery are meaningful hardware differences. But the benefits are conditional. Game features vary by title, the brightest display figure is a local peak, and the cameras have not been proven by specifications alone. For buyers outside China, OriginOS behavior, network bands, warranty and repair support may matter more than the headline performance. Unless iQOO confirms a local release for your market, treat the 15 Ultra as a China-market import and verify those details before paying.
