PlayStation is not included in the announced platform lineup for Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster. Square Enix lists Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC. The PC and Xbox digital versions launched on March 12, 2026, but the available announcement does not explain PlayStation’s absence or say whether the game will come to PlayStation later.
Which platforms is Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster on?
Square Enix’s platform announcement names four platforms: Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC. PlayStation does not appear in that list. That supports saying it is not part of the announced lineup; it does not establish a permanent exclusion.
Square Enix has not explained the omission in the cited announcement. It also does not establish an exclusivity agreement or confirm future PlayStation support, so there is no sourced reason to give for the platform choice.
When did the PC and Xbox versions launch?
The digital versions for PC and Xbox launched on March 12, 2026, according to Xbox Wire. The same date appears on the Steam listing and Xbox Store listing. Xbox Wire also confirms Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Square Enix’s earlier Asia announcement gave March 13, 2026 for Steam and Xbox. For the actual PC and Xbox launch date, the later launch report and current storefront dates point to March 12.
What does the HD Remaster add?
Square Enix describes the remaster as an updated version of the first game in the Bravely series. Its listed changes and returning features include:
Rank #2
- High-definition graphics and a redesigned user interface.
- An option to fast-forward event scenes.
- Two new minigames.
- Battle-speed and enemy-encounter-rate options carried forward from the original Nintendo 3DS version.
The combat remains turn-based and centers on the Brave and Default commands, which let players manage actions and risk from turn to turn. Square Enix’s game description also lists more than 20 jobs for customizing characters.
Why is the title called Flying Fairy?
Xbox Wire explains that Western players knew the original game as Bravely Default, while its Japanese release used the title Bravely Default Flying Fairy. The remaster restores that Japanese title wording.
Is there a physical Switch 2 edition?
Square Enix confirms a Nintendo Switch 2 version, but the cited announcement does not specify whether it is a physical edition. It does not establish an Amazon listing either, so a physical format or retailer availability should not be assumed from the platform announcement alone.
