Yes. As of October 8, 2026, you can no longer access Brickley’s Gym through NBA 2K24’s MyCAREER. 2K retired the game’s online services on December 31, 2025, and says MyCAREER is unavailable in retired NBA 2K titles. Replaying quests, waiting for a timer, or changing platforms will not restore access.
Why you can’t get into Brickley’s Gym
Brickley’s Gym is part of MyCAREER, a mode that depends on NBA 2K24’s online services. 2K’s online-services table lists December 31, 2025, as the game’s online-services retirement date. Its server-sunset notice says MyCAREER and MyTEAM are no longer available for older games after their services retire. 2K’s server-sunset notice was published July 31, 2025, and updated January 6, 2026; the NBA 2K24 online-services table was updated September 14, 2026.

This is not a quest bug or a platform-specific lock. The mode needed to reach the gym is no longer available, so there is no current unlock step or hardware change that will bring it back.

2K says owners can redownload NBA 2K24 and play its offline modes. The modes listed for the game are:

MyCAREER is not on that list. Features that require 2K’s servers—including multiplayer and online leagues—are also unavailable, according to the server-sunset notice.
Why older Brickley’s Gym tips no longer work
During the game’s supported period, 2K adjusted the starting requirements for the Chris Brickley and Art of Shooting quests so they would unlock more easily. Its patch notes also record a fix for a rare hang involving a trainer retrieving a ball in Brickley’s Gym. Those changes addressed quest progression and a specific gameplay issue at the time; they did not preserve access to MyCAREER after the servers retired. See NBA 2K24’s official patch notes.

Advice to wait a day, read messages, replay a game, or create a new build relates to historical reports about quest availability. It cannot restore a server-dependent mode that has been retired.

No. 2K’s retirement applies to NBA 2K24’s online services, not just a particular console or computer. The game originally launched on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC; at launch, The City was limited to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those launch-era platform differences do not provide a current route into MyCAREER or Brickley’s Gym. Take-Two’s August 2023 launch announcement describes the original platform availability.
