Yes. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is currently listed as playable with Xbox Game Pass on Xbox, Windows PC and, for eligible members, Xbox Cloud Gaming. Access depends on your plan, platform and region; it is subscription access, not permanent ownership. Check the current Xbox game listing before subscribing.
What Game Pass access includes
Game Pass access is for the main Black Ops 6 game, whose core modes are Campaign, Multiplayer and round-based Zombies. Activision lists the game as released on October 25, 2024; it remains on the Xbox listing rather than being a new launch. See Activision’s game page and the October 2024 Game Pass announcement.

Game Pass does not mean the game is free or that you own it. The subscription grants access while your eligible entitlement is active and the title remains available. If the subscription expires or the game leaves the catalog, you generally need to renew or buy the base game to keep playing. Cosmetic bundles, COD Points, Battle Pass content and Vault Edition bonuses are separate purchases. Warzone is free-to-play and is not proof that you have access to the paid Black Ops 6 package.
Which plans and platforms work?
Xbox currently lists Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, Essential and PC Game Pass, but the plan-comparison page does not establish that every plan includes this specific game on every platform. Confirm that the Black Ops 6 listing shows Game Pass access for your account and region before you sign up. The current lineup and general benefits are on the Xbox Game Pass comparison page.

| Play method | What to know |
|---|---|
| Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One | These Xbox generations are listed for Black Ops 6. Check the game listing for plan eligibility in your region. Activision edition and platform details. |
| Windows PC | Game Pass PC access is through the Microsoft Store/Xbox app version. It does not unlock the separate Steam or Battle.net editions. Activision edition and platform details. |
| Cloud gaming | Xbox and Activision identify cloud play with Game Pass Ultimate. Availability also depends on supported region and device, account sign-in, network quality and the current cloud catalog. Activision cloud-gaming support. |
Xbox’s current comparison page has a footnote excluding Call of Duty titles from the general day-one benefit. That is a policy distinction for future releases; it does not, by itself, remove Black Ops 6 from its current listing.
How to install or play
Xbox console or Windows PC download
- Open the Xbox app or Microsoft Store on PC, or the Store on your Xbox console, and sign in with the Microsoft account that has your subscription.
- Search for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 specifically. Confirm the listing offers Game Pass access rather than only showing a purchase option.
- Choose the install or play option shown for your platform. Install the Call of Duty launcher and the Black Ops 6 content packs or modes you want; the available pack names can change.
- Launch the game and sign in to or create an Activision account. Online features and account authentication require an internet connection.
Cloud play
Open Xbox Cloud Gaming on a supported device or browser, sign in to the eligible account and select Black Ops 6 if it appears in the current catalog. Cloud play streams the game rather than installing the full console or PC version, so device support, regional availability and connection quality matter. Xbox announced the cloud availability for Ultimate members at launch in its October 2024 cloud announcement.
Why does the listing say “Buy”?
A purchase prompt can indicate an account, plan, storefront, region or catalog issue. Check these items in order:

- This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
- In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
- Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
- The Cross-Gen Bundle of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will also be available on select Game Pass plans at launch.*
- Verify that you are signed in with the Microsoft account holding the active, eligible plan.
- Open the specific Black Ops 6 listing, not only a general Call of Duty or Warzone entry.
- On PC, use the Xbox app or Microsoft Store version; a Game Pass entitlement does not unlock Steam or Battle.net.
- Check that the account and store regions match, then refresh the app or restart the console.
- Update the Xbox app, Gaming Services, Windows or console software as applicable, and check Xbox service status.
- Review the current plan comparison and game listing in case plan eligibility or catalog availability has changed. If entitlement still does not appear, contact Xbox Support.
Call of Duty uses a shared launcher ecosystem, so seeing the launcher installed does not necessarily mean the Black Ops 6 campaign, multiplayer or Zombies packs are installed. Use the game’s listing and select the components offered by the current interface.
What Game Pass does not include
Vault Edition and in-game purchases
A Game Pass subscription provides access to the standard game; it does not automatically grant Vault Edition content, COD Points, cosmetics or Battle Pass items. Activision’s launch edition information cited a $30 US suggested Vault Edition upgrade price for subscribers at launch. That is historical, not a verified current price: check the Xbox Store for the present offer.
Online console multiplayer benefits
Do not assume every lower-cost console plan has identical online multiplayer benefits. Check the current plan comparison for the console online features applicable to your account.
Rank #3
- The Black Ops 6 campaign offers dynamic play with various playing areas with beautiful backgrounds, intense action and great spy activities
- In a top-class multiplayer experience, gamers can test their skills on 16 new maps at launch, including 12 standard 6v6 maps and 4 battle maps played in 2v2 or 6v8
- Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of fan-favorite Zombie mode
Other PC storefront licenses
Microsoft Store Game Pass access is separate from a Steam or Battle.net license. Activision lists those as separate PC versions, so buying or subscribing through one storefront does not automatically grant the others.
Subscribe or buy?
Game Pass is a practical choice if you want to play for a limited period, want other games in the catalog, or want supported cloud access. Buying the game is more suitable if you expect to play for years, want access that does not depend on a subscription, or specifically want the Steam or Battle.net PC version. Compare the cost for the time you expect to play with the live regional store price; subscription prices and catalog terms can change.
