No: Xbox has not announced a new Game Pass launch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III this week. Xbox announced the game for Game Pass in July 2024, added cloud streaming for Game Pass Ultimate in October 2024, and later listed it for console in Game Pass Standard in a September 2025 Xbox Wire announcement. Those announcements establish when the access routes were announced, not the game’s complete live availability across every plan, platform, and region today.
Is MW3 coming to Game Pass this week?
There is no new Modern Warfare III launch in Xbox’s October 7, 2026 Game Pass wave announcement. That wave names Echo Weaver, Forever Ago, and Neon Abyss 2 for October 8, and Battlefield 6 for October 13; it does not list MW3 as a new addition. Xbox’s October 2026 Game Pass announcement is not a complete catalog statement for every country or plan, so check the live Xbox catalog for current access in your region.
When did Modern Warfare 3 come to Game Pass?
Xbox announced on July 23, 2024, that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III would be available starting July 24 on Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate. Xbox Game Pass Senior Community Lead Megan Spurr wrote: “Get ready to lock in and load(out) as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III makes its way to Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate starting July 24!” Read Xbox’s July 2024 announcement. This records the plans named in that announcement; it is not a current, region-by-region entitlement list.
Which Game Pass access routes did Xbox announce?
| Access route | Xbox-announced timing | What the announcement establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate | Starting July 24, 2024 | Xbox’s initial announced Game Pass availability for console and PC plans. July 2024 Xbox announcement |
| Xbox Cloud Gaming with Game Pass Ultimate | Starting October 25, 2024 | A later cloud-streaming addition for Ultimate members, not the game’s initial Game Pass launch. October 2024 Xbox announcement |
| Game Pass Standard on console | September 17, 2025 | Listed in Xbox Wire France’s September 2025 catalog announcement; this regional-language source should not be read as a global entitlement matrix. September 2025 Xbox Wire France announcement |
These dated announcements show distinct plan, platform, and timing details. They do not confirm that the same access is currently available to every subscriber in every region. Search the live Xbox catalog or your console’s Game Pass listing for the present plan and platform options where you play.

Can you play MW3 on PC Game Pass or Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Xbox’s July 2024 announcement named PC Game Pass, and its October 2024 announcement separately said Game Pass Ultimate members could stream the game through Xbox Cloud Gaming beginning October 25. The cloud announcement described a later way to play; it was not a new addition of the game to Game Pass. Current eligibility may vary by region and catalog status, so verify the game’s listing in Xbox’s catalog before subscribing or troubleshooting access.
What is included in Modern Warfare III?
In its July 2024 announcement, Xbox described Modern Warfare III as a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II, with Captain Price and Task Force 141 facing ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov. Xbox identified a single-player campaign, multiplayer, and an open-world Zombies experience. These are Xbox’s description of the game, not an independent assessment of its modes.

Is Modern Warfare III the same game as Modern Warfare 4?
No. Modern Warfare III is the game discussed above. Xbox Wire described the separate Modern Warfare 4 as scheduled for global launch on October 23, 2026. A date for that separate title does not mean MW3 is newly launching on Game Pass this week. Xbox Wire’s September 2026 announcement for Modern Warfare 4 covers that game.
