Activision’s published information does not confirm that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is currently plagued by field-of-view (FOV) problems or general tactical-sprint bugs. Its known-issues tracker, marked updated August 7, 2026, does not list either complaint. However, that list is not a complete record of every player’s experience, and Sledgehammer Games did document and resolve one specific tac-sprint animation issue in 2024.
What is confirmed about MWIII’s FOV and tac sprint?
The wording “MWIII plagued by FOV issues” and “tac sprint bugs” should be treated as player-facing allegations, not as an established diagnosis. Activision’s known-issues page says it tracks issues identified or reported that are under investigation or scheduled to be fixed. Its visible entries, updated August 7, 2026, concern other matters; neither FOV problems nor general tactical-sprint problems appear there.

That absence does not prove that no player has encountered an FOV or sprint issue. It means only that the reviewed official tracker does not list those complaints as current known issues. The cited official material also does not establish how often players experience them, which platforms or regions are affected, or whether a specific current build reproduces them.
What tac-sprint issue did Sledgehammer Games fix?
There is one narrow, documented tac-sprint-related fix. In its September 5, 2024 Season 5 patch notes, Sledgehammer Games wrote: “Resolved an issue where the tac sprint animation for the Sledgehammer melee weapon differed between third-person and first-person views.”

This confirms a mismatch for that weapon’s animation across those viewpoints, and that the specific issue was marked resolved. It does not establish that all tac-sprint behavior was broken, that other weapons or modes shared the defect, or that every player’s sprint complaint was fixed.
Why do the patch notes mention other tactical-sprint changes?
Official patch notes also record adjustments to tactical-sprint timing and speed. Those changes are gameplay adjustments, not automatically evidence of bugs:

Read those notes as evidence that sprint mechanics were tuned, not as proof that a current FOV or tac-sprint fault exists. The documented animation fix is more specific than either balance adjustment.

How to check or report an issue
- Check Activision’s MWIII known-issues tracker. Compare your symptom with the current listed issues and any platform labels shown there.
- If your issue is absent, use the MWIII Bug Report form. Activision directs players with unlisted problems to submit a report; the available information does not promise a response or a particular fix timeline.
- Include details that make the symptom distinguishable. State your platform, game build or date, mode, weapon if relevant, the movement input or sequence, and repeatable steps. These details can help separate a viewpoint-specific animation mismatch from an FOV display complaint or another movement issue.
- Use the MWIII support hub for linked performance guidance and other support resources. Follow the instructions that match your platform and symptom; no particular setting change is established here as a fix for the allegations.
