Who is Xenoverse 2 worth buying for?
It’s a good fit if you want a Dragon Ball action-RPG
Consider it if the appeal is making a custom character and spending time in a game set in the Dragon Ball universe. The strongest reason to buy is that combination of setting and character progression, rather than the promise of a complete package with every add-on included.
Think twice if you mainly want active online play
If your decision depends on current player counts, matchmaking quality, or which platform has the liveliest online community, the available official figures don’t answer that. Bandai Namco reported more than 10 million cumulative worldwide shipments for Xenoverse 2 in 2023, but shipments are not active-player counts and don’t establish how easy it is to find matches now.

What do the editions include?
Bandai Namco describes three editions, but none should be assumed to include the entire DLC catalog. The exact editions available can vary by platform and region.

How much does the DLC matter?
The add-on catalog is extensive: Steam lists separate packs, passes, and music packs, while Nintendo’s US storefront lists Future Saga chapters alongside older packs. Selection and price differ by store, platform, and region. You can decide based on the content you actually want; buying the full catalog is not a prerequisite implied by the edition descriptions.
Bandai Namco says FUTURE SAGA Chapter 4 concludes the four-chapter Future Saga and closes out nearly a decade of post-launch content. That is the publisher’s statement about the final DLC; it does not establish that every service or update for the game has ended.

Which platform should you choose?
Bandai Namco lists Xenoverse 2 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Choose from the platforms you already own, then compare the edition and included content on that platform’s local store. If portable play is a priority, the publisher lists a physical Nintendo Switch Standard Edition; confirm the region, condition, availability, and exact contents with the retailer before ordering.
How to make the buying decision
- Confirm the game: make sure the listing is for DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2.
- Decide what you want to play: if the base game’s Dragon Ball setting and custom-character progression are the draw, start by comparing the Standard Edition with the price of a bundle.
- Check bundle contents: compare the store listing against the included packs above; don’t assume a bundle includes all DLC.
- Price the extras you actually care about: check your platform’s local store for the specific pass or pack, rather than treating the size of the DLC catalog as a required purchase.
