What Sony announced for Horizon Zero Dawn
Sony announced on April 15, 2026, that Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered would join the Extra and Premium Game Catalog on April 21. The announcement listed different editions by console:

The PS4 listing is the Complete Edition, not the PS5 Remastered build. Sony also listed Remastered as a Game Catalog title in its May 22, 2026 open-world games guide. Those dated announcements document past inclusion; they do not confirm that the game remains available on October 8.
Is Horizon Forbidden West in the catalog?
The official sources available for this article do not confirm whether Horizon Forbidden West is in the U.S. Extra catalog on October 8, 2026. Sony’s September 2026 Game Catalog announcement lists that month’s additions, not a complete live inventory. Its omission of Forbidden West therefore cannot establish that the game is unavailable.

Because the current status is unresolved, check the game’s listing in the PlayStation Store for your own country. A catalog entry there is the practical way to confirm whether your account’s region and subscription tier currently provide access.
What “free on PS Plus Extra” means
Catalog access is included with a recurring paid subscription; it does not mean permanent ownership or a free-to-keep copy. Sony explains that some Game Catalog titles have an end date and that availability varies by time and plan. Regional lineups can differ as well. If a title leaves the catalog, access through the subscription ends. A past addition date—or a listing for a different region—does not guarantee it will be playable through Extra today.

- Open the PlayStation Store for your account’s country and search for the exact game title.
- Confirm the edition and console shown. For Zero Dawn, distinguish PS5 Remastered from the PS4 Complete Edition.
- Look for the Game Catalog access option and verify that it applies to your subscription tier.
- Check the listing for any availability or removal-date notice before planning a download.
Sony’s U.S. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Store page identifies it as a PS5 product and says Extra members can access it through the Game Catalog; it also identifies The Frozen Wilds expansion as included. Store offers and catalog status can change, so use the listing itself for current details.
