Those are studio-attributed figures, not verified sales totals or current player counts. They support the studio’s positive view of the launch, but do not establish how the game is performing today.
What did Visionary Realms report?
Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen entered Steam Early Access on December 13, 2024. In a GamesBeat interview published January 3, 2025 and updated June 18, 2025, Visionary Realms CEO Chris Rowan described the reception as “spectacular” and said the game had reached 40,000 unique players, with more than 6,000 having logged in to Early Access. GamesBeat’s interview report attributes those figures to Rowan.
Rowan also said the game reached Steam’s top 10 on its first day and characterized concurrency as healthy and stronger than expected. These are his accounts of launch performance; the report does not provide independently verified sales, revenue, or player-count data.
What do the player figures mean?
“Unique players” and “logged in” describe different measures. Neither figure should be presented as a count of copies sold: the interview does not supply a verified purchase total or explain a methodology that would let readers convert either number into sales. Rowan’s praise for sales and concurrency is likewise a studio executive’s characterization, not an audited result.

- 12 New Factions.
- New Town Events Deck.
- New Town Technology.
- Large box for storing all cards.
The figures are a snapshot from the January 2025 interview, not a measure of the game’s population in October 2026. The report does not establish current concurrent users, current sales, or the game’s present-day reception.
What was in the Early Access build?
GamesBeat described the PC game as a social, high-fantasy MMO. At the time of its report, the Early Access build included six zones, six playable races, 12 playable classes, and progression up to level 40. The team expected to add content during Early Access, so these details describe that reported build rather than a guarantee about the game’s current scope.

- Collectible Card Game (Pack)
The interview also reported plans to develop more of the world and upgrade to Unity 6 for optimization and performance work. Those were plans stated at the time, not confirmation that the upgrade or other changes were subsequently delivered.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. So, was the launch a success?
By Visionary Realms’ own account, yes: Rowan called the reception spectacular, cited the player and login figures, and said launch concurrency was strong. The evidence supports describing the studio as pleased with its Early Access reception. It does not support a definitive independent verdict on commercial success, because the report provides no audited sales figure or comparable verified benchmark.

For readers deciding what those claims tell them, the key distinction is between a favorable developer-reported launch snapshot and independently established sales or current popularity. The available report documents the former, not the latter.
