That describes his creative intent, not a revealed set of gameplay mechanics. Public details remain limited.
What has Kojima said about PHYSINT?
In remarks reported by GamesRadar+ on October 5, 2026, Kojima described the project this way: “It’s about spies, but I want plenty of new ideas and a different kind of spy action. It’s quite different.” The report frames PHYSINT as an espionage game and says little about its specific design. Is PHYSINT different from Metal Gear?
Kojima says he intends it to be different, while still placing it in the spy and espionage genre. That is the confirmed distinction at this stage. The reports do not describe the mechanics that will set it apart, so it is too early to say whether PHYSINT will differ in stealth systems, mission design, perspective, setting, or story structure—or how it will compare with any particular Metal Gear game.
What do we know about its cast and production?
Beebom reports Bill Skarsgård, Charlee Fraser, Ma Dong-seok (Don Lee), and Minami Hamabe among PHYSINT’s cast. The report does not identify all their character roles or establish a complete cast list. Beebom’s report attributes the cast information to its coverage.
