But those past defects do not confirm that a specific player’s reputation drop in 2026 is caused by a bug. The official updates cited here do not establish that the issue is currently open or widespread.
What Ubisoft confirmed—and when
The Reputation System has changed over time, so the date and affected component matter when assessing a complaint.
2022: gradual beta rollout
When Ubisoft announced the beta rollout on December 6, 2022, it said the system would be introduced gradually. During onboarding, many bonuses and penalties would be disabled while players could see their standing and explanatory messages. Ubisoft’s rollout announcement.
2024: acknowledged defects and mitigations
In an April 19, 2024 status update, Ubisoft said voice and written communication penalties had been applied at a higher-than-expected rate, so it disabled them. It also described console cases where increased voice-chat reports appeared in the Reputation Center, and misconduct categories were incorrectly labeled “Excessive.” Ubisoft said a fix for those console issues had shipped on March 21, 2024.

The same update said a delay had made commendations affect standing too slowly; Ubisoft reported that they were then updating promptly and correctly. The company also postponed standing-based impacts that had been planned for Y9S2 and delayed full release to a later season, saying the system would remain in beta while it collected feedback. 2025: sanctions and moderation caveats
In an August 14, 2025 update about Siege X, Ubisoft said reputation sanctions were active in Dual Front. It reported more than 4,600 temporary bans since March 2025 for players who accumulated a critical amount of negative Reputation Units. Ubisoft also said three of five temporarily banned players adapted their behavior and did not offend again.

Those are Ubisoft-reported operational figures, not independently audited estimates, and they do not show how accurately the system evaluates every player. Ubisoft acknowledged that text-chat moderation can falsely detect misconduct when it lacks conversational context. It also reported that text-chat reports per match fell 14% and voice-chat reports per match fell 27%, attributing some of the decline to the new Chat Wheel. 2026: further anti-toxicity work announced
On August 7, 2026, Ubisoft described plans for more voice-chat anti-toxicity updates before year-end, a mandatory Code of Conduct beginning in Year 11 Season 4, clearer communication about outcomes after toxicity reports, and Year 12 features to recognize positive behavior. These announcements describe planned work; they do not establish that a particular current reputation bug exists or that every planned change has shipped. Ubisoft’s Community Checkpoint.

What a reputation drop does—and does not—prove
A drop, misconduct label, or report count alone does not identify its cause. The available official updates do not establish whether an individual player’s change resulted from valid gameplay signals, a moderation false positive, a defect, or another factor. Nor do they establish the standing-impact and communication-penalty configuration across every platform and playlist as of October 8, 2026.
An old Steam Community post attributes a reputation drop to a Wi-Fi disconnection, but it is one player’s anecdote and does not prove that the disconnection caused the change or that this is a recurring defect. Steam Community discussion.

How to document and report a suspected error
If the displayed information appears wrong, preserve what you can see and report the incident through Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege support or Player Protection resources. The following details can make your report more specific; Ubisoft does not state that this exact list is mandatory.
- Platform and the date and time you noticed the change.
- Game mode and the standing, report count, or misconduct category shown in the interface.
- What happened in the relevant match and whether the same behavior or display issue recurs.
- Screenshots of the interface, if available, to preserve what it showed at the time.
A report is useful for documenting a case, but it does not by itself establish that the system malfunctioned. Keep the exact symptom separate from your explanation of what caused it.
