Is Skyy Clark Eligible for LSU? What the NCAA’s Kentucky Court Win Means

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

As of October 3, 2026, Skyy Clark’s LSU eligibility is not conclusively settled. A Kentucky appeals court reportedly dissolved a temporary injunction that had protected him and other fifth-year athletes, but CBS Sports’ roster tracker says a separate California court order still clears Clark to play “for now.” The Kentucky ruling is a setback, not proof that Clark has been ruled ineligible in every proceeding.

Is Skyy Clark eligible to play for LSU?

The latest reporting available on October 3 describes Clark as eligible for now under a California court order, while also reporting that an injunction covering him in a Kentucky case has been dissolved. Those are separate proceedings, so the Kentucky decision does not by itself establish that the California order has ended. Clark’s status may change as the cases proceed or LSU and the NCAA respond.

CBS Sports’ roster tracker, crawled October 3, labels Clark “Eligible for now” under the California order. The October 2 report on the Kentucky development says his status is uncertain pending further proceedings and acknowledges that the development was being reported by CBS Sports without independent corroboration in that account. Neither report establishes a final, universally applicable decision on Clark’s eligibility.

What did the NCAA win in court?

On October 2, 2026, the Kentucky Court of Appeals reportedly dissolved a temporary injunction that had covered a group of fifth-year athletes including Clark. The ruling removed that particular protection; it is not described as a final decision on the underlying merits of every athlete’s eligibility claim or every lawsuit.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

The distinction matters: an injunction is court-ordered relief during litigation, and dissolving one changes the protection it supplied. It does not automatically decide the outcome of a separate case or determine how the NCAA, LSU, or another court will treat Clark next.

How Clark’s California, Kentucky, Colorado and Louisiana cases differ

The cases concern different orders, courts and groups of athletes. They should not be treated as one nationwide ruling.

Proceeding Connection to Clark What the available reporting says
California Clark joined a lawsuit with UCLA teammate Donovan Dent and other athletes after seeking a fifth college season. CBS Sports says a California court order currently clears Clark to play “for now.” The supplied reporting does not establish that this order has been vacated.
Kentucky A temporary injunction reportedly protected a group that included Clark. The Kentucky Court of Appeals reportedly dissolved that injunction on October 2, 2026; further proceedings remain pending.
Colorado A federal court issued an earlier order affecting athletes in the 2022 recruiting class. In late July 2026, Judge Charlotte Sweeney issued a preliminary injunction. The Daily Bruin reported that Clark committed to LSU in August after that development.
Louisiana Separate LSU litigation concerned other eligibility issues, including former football professionals. That state case is background to broader eligibility disputes, not the ruling on Clark’s individual basketball case.

The Daily Bruin’s account of Clark’s case and transfer provides the background on his UCLA lawsuit and LSU commitment. Coverage of the separate Louisiana dispute by The Associated Press and WBRZ should not be read as a decision about Clark.

Why Clark is seeking another season

Clark played college basketball at Illinois, Louisville and UCLA. After his fourth collegiate season, he sought a fifth year and joined the California lawsuit with Dent and other athletes. He later left UCLA and committed to LSU in August 2026, according to the Daily Bruin. The legal question is whether he can compete for another season; joining the team does not, on its own, settle that question.

What to watch next

Clark’s status should be checked against a newer court order or direct confirmation from LSU or the NCAA before relying on it for a game or roster decision. Injunctions can change while litigation and appeals continue, and the October 2 report itself describes further proceedings as pending. The available accounts do not establish a final ruling that makes Clark ineligible across all cases.
