The price comparison is supported by a dated U.S. deal report; the performance claim is not. On October 6, 2026, IGN reported an ABS Cyclone RTX 5060 offer at $899 and a Steam Machine price of $1,049. That makes the ABS $150 cheaper on those reported prices, but it does not prove the PC is faster in games. Valve says Steam Machine pricing varies by location and may change, so check both listings before buying.
What the $899 comparison does—and does not—show
IGN’s October 6, 2026 commerce article reports a limited-time $899 price for the ABS desktop and lists Steam Machine at $1,049. Those figures make the ABS $150 less expensive in that comparison. They are not a guarantee of current price or availability, and Valve says Steam Machine prices are the ones shown on its product page, vary by location, and can change.
The “more powerful” part is unproven by the available evidence. The ABS is described as a Windows 11 desktop with a discrete GeForce RTX 5060; Valve describes Steam Machine as using a semi-custom AMD GPU and SteamOS. The cited sources do not provide matched game benchmarks for these exact systems, so they cannot establish which delivers higher frame rates or by how much.
Confirm which ABS configuration is actually for sale
Walmart’s listing for the ABS Cyclone Aqua names an Intel Core 5 120 processor, GeForce RTX 5060 with 8GB of graphics memory, 16GB DDR4, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and Windows 11: Walmart’s ABS Cyclone Aqua listing. The October 6 IGN deal article instead describes an i5-14400F-based system: IGN’s dated deal coverage.

- Operating System: Windows 11 Home
- CPU: Core i7-14700F
- GPU: DUAL OC GeForce RTX 5070 12GB
- Motherboard: PRIME B760M-A AX D4
- RAM: Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200
Those processor names are not interchangeable. Check the exact model or SKU shown on the retailer page before ordering; do not assume the deal article and Walmart listing describe the same configuration. The listed $899 is a retail deal, not an established ongoing price.
What Valve has announced for Steam Machine
Valve’s Steam Machine product page lists a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads, a semi-custom RDNA3 GPU with 28 compute units, 16GB DDR5 system memory plus 8GB GDDR6 graphics memory, and NVMe storage options of 512GB or 2TB. The announced operating system is SteamOS 3. These are announced specifications and may change. Valve’s official page is localized; the specifications are shown on its Steam Machine product page.

Valve’s Steamworks overview calls it a compact gaming device and says it is “roughly 6 times more powerful than Steam Deck.” That is Valve’s comparison with Steam Deck, not a performance comparison against the ABS RTX 5060 PC. See Valve’s Steam Machine and SteamOS documentation.
RTX 5060 features are not a head-to-head benchmark
NVIDIA lists DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Super Resolution, ray tracing features, and Reflex among the RTX 5060 family’s capabilities. In its April 15, 2025 announcement, NVIDIA also made performance claims about RTX 5060 cards, including a claim of double RTX 4060 performance in games using DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation. Those are manufacturer claims about the graphics-card family, not independent measurements of this ABS PC against Steam Machine. The announcement is available from NVIDIA.

What to verify before you buy
- Open the retailer and Valve product pages and compare the prices shown for your location; the $899 and $1,049 figures come from October 6, 2026 coverage, not a universal current price.
- Confirm the ABS model number and CPU on the live listing, because Walmart and the deal article report different processors.
- Compare benchmarks for the specific games, resolution, and settings you plan to use. The cited sources do not provide a controlled ABS-versus-Steam-Machine test.
- Choose based on the platform you want as well as hardware: Windows 11 on the ABS listing, or SteamOS on Valve’s announced device.
