A UK deal report said HMV cut the PlayStation DualSense Edge to £139.99 from £199.99 on 14 May 2026, calling it a record-low price at the time. That is historical pricing, not confirmation of an offer available on 8 October 2026. The controller’s appeal is its extensive customization: it lets you remap inputs, tune sticks and triggers, and save profiles for different games or play styles.
Is the reported £139.99 deal still available?
TechRadar’s James Pickard reported the HMV price on 14 May 2026 and described it as a record low at that time. The report is UK-specific; it does not establish the current price, stock, or availability in October 2026, or prices in other countries. What does the DualSense Edge add?
The Edge builds on the standard DualSense with deeper control customization. Sony says players can remap or deactivate button inputs, adjust stick sensitivity and dead zones, and change trigger travel and dead zones. Its Fn buttons provide shortcuts for switching profiles and adjusting settings. Haptics and adaptive triggers work in supported games. Sony’s announcement describes the controller’s customization features.
Rear buttons and stick caps
The controller includes swappable rear buttons and changeable stick caps, allowing players to choose the layout and feel that suit them. The stick modules themselves can be replaced, but Sony sells those modules separately. Replaceability is useful if a module needs changing; it does not guarantee that stick wear will be prevented or that ownership will cost less over time. Sony’s announcement documents the replaceable modules.

This is useful if you regularly switch between games that benefit from different control settings. Sony’s customization guide explains profile settings and limits.

Can you use and customize it on PC?
PlayStation supports connecting the Edge to a Windows PC by the included USB cable or Bluetooth. You can configure it in the PlayStation Accessories app for Windows. On PC, haptics and adaptive triggers may require USB and depend on whether the game supports them. The function buttons are limited to switching saved profiles on PC. It is most compelling if you expect to use its extra inputs, remapping, adjustable controls, or saved profiles regularly. If you mainly want a standard PS5 controller and will leave those features untouched, the premium is harder to justify. That is a value judgment based on the feature set, not a measured performance advantage. Compare the live local price with what you would actually use, and factor in that replacement stick modules are sold separately.
