PC Gamer reported a Newegg promotion on October 8, 2026, listing Gigabyte’s Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB at $399.99 after a $110 reduction from $509.99. The discount required an email signup. That price is still about $100 above the $299 MSRP PC Gamer lists, so it is best understood as a lower-than-competing-retailer price—not a below-MSRP bargain. PC Gamer called it the card’s lowest price in a month, but that historical claim is the publisher’s own tracking, not an independently reconstructed price history.
What the $399.99 offer actually means
The reported offer was for a Gigabyte RX 9060 XT with 8 GB of memory at Newegg. PC Gamer’s October 8, 2026 deal report says buyers needed to sign up by email to receive the discount. Availability, stock, and the signup terms can change, so check the live listing before purchasing.
PC Gamer listed the card’s MSRP as $299. At $399.99, the promotion was therefore $100.99 above that figure. The offer may look attractive against other reported retailer prices, but it is not a return to MSRP.
PC Gamer described $399.99 as a one-month low. Its separate price-watch page corroborated the deal price, but the available figures do not establish the card’s complete price history over that month. Treat the low-price claim as PC Gamer’s reported tracking result.

Is the 8 GB model enough for your games?
The 8 GB RX 9060 XT is not simply interchangeable with its 16 GB sibling. The memory difference can matter in demanding games and settings, and the benchmark figures PC Gamer published show that performance gaps vary by title.
In PC Gamer’s selected 1080p tests, the 8 GB model averaged 71 FPS with 58 FPS 1% lows in Black Myth: Wukong at High, compared with 73 average and 63 1% lows for the 16 GB version. In Cyberpunk 2077 at RT Ultra, the 8 GB card recorded 41 average FPS and 26 1% lows, versus 49 and 39 for the 16 GB card. These are PC Gamer-reported results, not an independent test set; they illustrate specific games and settings rather than guaranteeing results in yours.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
Use the $120 reported gap to weigh capacity against cost. The 8 GB version may suit a buyer prioritizing a lower upfront price and the games or settings they actually play. If you want more memory headroom or expect to use demanding settings, compare the 16 GB card’s current price before deciding.
How it compares with the RTX 5060
PC Gamer’s comparison presents the RX 9060 XT and RTX 5060 as a trade-off rather than a universal winner. It describes the RX 9060 XT as stronger in raw GPU power in many games, while identifying better upscaling and frame-generation features on the RTX 5060. Ray-tracing results vary by game.

- Game performance: Check results for the games you play; a general claim about raw performance does not settle every title.
- Ray tracing: Compare the specific games and settings you care about, since performance varies.
- Upscaling and frame generation: Consider whether you use these features and how each card’s feature set fits your preferences.
- Memory and price: Compare the RX 9060 XT’s 8 GB and 16 GB options, then check the actual street prices of both cards and the RTX 5060.
When this deal makes sense
The reported $399.99 offer was more compelling than PC Gamer’s same-day comparison prices for the 8 GB model, but whether it is right for you depends on your priorities and the live listing.
- Consider it if you want the RX 9060 XT 8 GB, the email condition is acceptable, and its price is still clearly below comparable listings.
- Compare the 16 GB card if the extra memory matters to your games or settings and the $120 reported premium remains close to current pricing.
- Check the RTX 5060 if its upscaling and frame-generation features matter more to you than the RX 9060 XT’s reported raw-performance advantage in many games.
- Wait or keep comparing if $400 feels too high relative to the $299 MSRP; the reported promotion does not erase that gap.
The broader GPU market was described as poor by PC Gamer’s deal coverage. A September 2026 PC Gamer retrospective attributed recent GPU price increases to a memory crisis, but that context does not establish a separate price trend for this specific 8 GB card.
