Xbox’s official name for the feature is Xbox Year in Review, though most players search for it as “Xbox Wrapped.” The most recent official edition is the 2024 recap, which was announced on December 4, 2024 and whose access window closed on January 31, 2025.
Release history of Xbox Year in Review
Xbox has published two dated editions of its recap, both in early December. The table below lists what the official announcements stated about each one.
| Edition | Announced | Stated access window | Regional limits | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Year in Review 2023 | December 12, 2023 | Through January 31, 2024 | Not stated in the announcement | Xbox Wire, 2023 |
| Year in Review 2024 | December 4, 2024 | Through January 31, 2025 | Select markets only | Xbox Wire, December 4, 2024 |
| Year in Review 2025 | No announcement found | Not applicable | Not applicable | Reported as not coming, TrueAchievements, December 18, 2025 |
Two early-December launches are not a guaranteed schedule. Treat December as a pattern to watch, not a date to plan around.
Why reporting says there is no 2025 edition
No official Xbox statement cancels the 2025 recap outright. The conclusion rests on several indirect signals, each of which points the same way:
#1 Best Overall
- MODERNIZED DESIGN — Experience the modernized design of the XBOX Wireless Controller with sculpted surfaces and updated geometry that enhances comfort and control during long gaming sessions.
- PRECISION PERFORMANCE — Stay on target with a hybrid D-pad and textured grips on triggers, bumpers, and back case for improved accuracy and handling.
- SHARE BUTTON: Seamlessly capture and share content such as screenshots, recordings, and more with the new Share button.
- VERSATILE CONNECTIVITY — Connect via USB-C for plug-and-play on console and PC, or quickly pair and switch between supported devices with XBOX Wireless and Bluetooth support.
- BUILT-IN AUDIO SUPPORT — Plug in compatible headsets using the 3.5mm audio jack for direct voice chat and immersive in-game sound.
- Xbox’s official Year in Review archive lists the 2024 announcement as its latest dedicated edition.
- Xbox’s year-end article dated December 18, 2025 is a general thank-you and games recap. It does not offer personalized account statistics.
- TrueAchievements reported on December 18, 2025 that it had received no further Microsoft updates and concluded there would be no official Year in Review for 2025.
If Xbox later confirms a 2025 edition or announces a 2026 one, Xbox Wire is where the official announcement would appear. The reporting reviewed here runs through late December 2025, so later developments are not covered.

Official 2024 edition: the documented steps
Xbox’s instructions for the 2024 recap were short. Shanti Lang, Senior Digital Marketing Manager at Xbox, wrote in the December 4, 2024 Xbox Wire announcement: “Head over to www.Xbox.com/YearinReview.” Use these steps only as the documented process for that edition:

Watching for a future official edition
Because Xbox has not confirmed a date, the most reliable signal is an official post on Xbox Wire. Until one appears, no official date for a new Year in Review can be treated as confirmed.
