To complete Jar’s Light in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, find Resin on the cave route toward the Indigo Tree, bring it back to Jar in Spring Meadows, then use Free Aim to shoot the top of his staff. Jar’s request is optional; you do not need to fight him to light it.
How to start Jar’s Light Quest
Find Jar in Spring Meadows, near the Abandoned Expeditioner Camp, and speak with him to begin the optional side quest. His request is for Resin—not a torch or another ordinary light source.

Where to find Resin for Jar

From Jar, follow the cave route toward the Indigo Tree area.

Should you attack Jar?
After helping Jar, you can leave him alive or start an optional fight. The choice is between reported immediate combat loot and preserving the possibility of a later Nevron-related reward; the conditions for that later reward are not fully established by the available walkthrough accounts.
