This walkthrough shows where to find all 56 Banandium Gems in Donkey Kong Bananza’s Lagoon Layer, organized by sub-layer: SL100, SL101, SL102, and the post-credit Kong Bananza Rehearsal. The guide’s numbering places Rehearsal gems 41–50 after the main-story SL101 entries 1–40, then resumes with SL102 gems 51–56; the numbers below preserve that order.
The location names and directions follow Nintendo Life’s guide by Jim Norman, published 14 August 2025, and have not been independently tested in-game. Gems 1–40 and 51–56 cover the main-story layers; gems 41–50 require post-credit progress.
SL100: Lagoon Layer gems 1–25
- First Crockoid Cracked! — Directly in front of the first landing place.
- Cave by the Cape — Enter the tunnel below DK, just ahead of the Ape Cape Teeleport, then punch through the rock doorway behind you.
- Lagoon Smashin’ Stats — Smash through 5,000 m of water in this layer, then speak to Smashintone north of the Ape Cape checkpoint. This is the guide-reported in-game threshold for the reward.
- Bathing Banana — Punch through the sand wall to the right of the Boom Bomb introduction and drop into the water.
- Shifty Smash: Beyond the Wall — Northeast of Reservoir Bank checkpoint, head over the cliff toward the splayed rocks and hit the pyramid by the Blast Rock to start the challenge.
- Battle: Stoney, Grassy Goons — Follow the path from Reservoir Bank checkpoint and enter the Challenge Ruins on the right.
- A Nook behind Concrete — Use Blast Rock on the turning concrete near those ruins, then Hand Slap to find the gem to the right of the turnstile.
- Battle: Both Sides of the Bridge — Enter the Antickoid x6 Battle Ruins to the left of Reservoir Hills checkpoint.
- Smash through the Floor — Look under a concrete slab in a cave beside Reservoir Getaway.
- Cranky’s Lagoon Rant — Find Cranky Kong on a floating platform behind the right monkey head on the bridge over Reservoir Hills checkpoint; listen to his rant.
- A Real Mouthful — Go one level up the cliff face to the right of Reservoir Hills checkpoint and punch through the dark sand wall.
- Rest Stop on Roof Road — Enter the Hangin’ on Roof Road Challenge Ruins in the left monkey face on the bridge over Reservoir Hills checkpoint. The gem is just after the first hanging section.
- Hidden on Roof Road — At the next hanging section, head left toward the moving rocks. Use their gaps or punch through them to reach the secret path.
- At the End of Roof Road — Complete the Challenge Ruins.
- Lakeside Low Road — Go under the rock bridge north of Reservoir Hills checkpoint, turn left, and drop to the platform with two barrels guarding a doorway. Punch through the doorway.
- Battle: Swarms among the Pillars — Beat the Peekaboopoid x50 Battle Ruins on the northernmost green metal platform of SL100.

- Beyond the Cloudy Platforms — On a floating platform east of the water tank, throw two stones at the shiny material to make a bridge.
- Blasting for the Banana — From Reservoir Hills checkpoint, follow the path and talk to the monkey beside the Boom Rock. Follow the map marker and hit the machine.
- Lagoon Chip Exchange — Cash in chips at the Lagoon Chip Exchange on SL101.
SL101: Lagoon Layer gems 26–40
- Landed in Salvager’s Landing! — Defeat the Concrete Crockoid to unlock the Void Co. plug, then follow the jump downward.
- Shifty Smash: A Wall Hanging in Air — Turn around at the SL101 entrance and jump onto the metal structure with the Boom Rock. Punch the shining pyramid to start the challenge.
- On the Ceiling of the Floor — After speaking to the Kong Elder, raise the water to its maximum level and swim beneath the fishing village.

- The Ship Stern’s Snack — Swim around the shipping containers behind the Kong Elder.
Post-credit Kong Bananza Rehearsal: gems 41–50
These ten Rehearsal rewards become available after the credits and the post-credit storyline. Nintendo Life’s guide reports that you need at least 300 Banandium Gems and must start Kong Bananza Rehearsal by speaking with the Kong Elder on SL101. The challenge room has no map, so follow the detours and rooms in sequence.
- Smash Through the First Scrappin’ Ground — Defeat the enemies as instructed.
- Lure and Destroy — Punch through the wall to the left of the first gem to start a detour.
- Past the Second Scrappin’ Ground — Clear the bomb room.
- Lift and Destroy — Go through the wall left of the second Scrappin’ Ground gem and use the lift to defeat enemies.
- Past the Third Scrappin’ Ground — Complete the shifting-block challenge.
- Wallop and Destroy — Take the detour after the third room and use the Wallops.
- Past the Fourth Scrappin’ Ground — Clear the Burrower rooms.
- Launch and Destroy — In the next detour, stand under the Burrowers and launch enemies with an Up Punch.
- Bounce and Destroy — In the final detour, use cannon balls to knock down enemies.
- Past the Fifth Scrappin’ Ground — Complete Kong Bananza Rehearsal.
SL102: Lagoon Layer gems 51–56
- Dipped into Chimpy Channel — Learn Kong Bananza from the Kong Elder and follow the critical path through the Void Co. seal. The gem is at the SL102 entrance.
- Pop and Destroy — Complete the Kong Bananza: Pop Party Challenge Ruins.
- Atop the Concrete Roof — Enter those Challenge Ruins beside the SL102 entrance and climb onto the arena roof.
- Hung from the Ceiling — Look for the gem hanging from the ceiling of the same Challenge Ruins.
- Shipwrecked Treasure — Search the boat behind Lakebed Getaway.
- Lagoon Hide-and-Seek — Speak to Seekertone at the former-boss battle site, then find the four hidden Fractones.
