Reach Lanayru Temple prepared

Nintendo Life recommends chill-proof smoothies for the cold and Ice Spikes for the slippery terrain. These are preparation suggestions, not requirements for a particular dungeon puzzle. How to follow the dungeon route
Use room transitions and landmarks rather than assuming every puzzle in the dungeon uses the same switch or ice mechanic. The progression covered by the available walkthroughs runs from the Small Key puzzle through the wall-climbing and ice puzzles, the map route and green slime miniboss, then an underground torch puzzle and the Big Key puzzle before Skorchill. A video walkthrough marks these milestones by timestamp, which can help identify the room if you are unsure where you are.
Get the Small Key from the paired-switch room
In the paired-switch room described by Game8, the goal is to activate both switches together to reveal the Small Key chest. Push an ice block toward the switch on the right, then step on the lower switch as the block passes over the right-hand switch. The timing lets the block and Zelda trigger both switches at once. This solution applies to that paired-switch setup; do not assume it works on other switch mechanisms in the temple. Game8’s Small Key walkthrough covers this puzzle.

Climb through the icicle and ice-wall puzzles
After the Small Key section, the route includes an icicle wall-climb puzzle and a separate ice-wall puzzle. Treat these as distinct obstacles: the walkthrough milestone list identifies both, but the written solutions available here do not establish the exact placements or Echo sequence for every room. Follow the visible climbable surfaces and openings as you move through each room, and use the video guide’s icicle and ice-wall timestamps to confirm the relevant room if you need a visual reference.
Reach the Dungeon Map chest
Continue along the main route to the Dungeon Map chest. Nintendo Life notes that bombs are the best option against enemies in this map-chest sequence. Use bombs for that encounter rather than treating them as a general answer to the dungeon’s other enemies; the source does not establish a specific bomb Echo or setup for this room. Optional treasure is separate from the key-and-boss progression, so detour for a chest only if you want to collect it.

Beat the green slime miniboss
A green slime miniboss stands between the map section and the underground torch puzzle. The available source descriptions identify the encounter and its position in the route but do not provide a verified step-by-step attack pattern. Use your available combat Echoes and respond to the enemy’s behavior rather than relying on an unconfirmed specific weakness.
Solve the underground torch puzzle and get the Big Key
After the miniboss, proceed to the underground torch puzzle, then follow the route to the Big Key puzzle. The milestone order is confirmed by the video walkthrough, but the detailed torch placements and Big Key room instructions are not exposed in the available guide descriptions. Use the room’s visible torches and switches as clues, and consult the corresponding video timestamps if you need a visual walkthrough rather than guessing a specific sequence.

Skorchill is the temple boss. Its key vulnerability is being frozen: Zelda Dungeon recommends freezing it with an ice Echo, then dealing damage while it is immobilized. Ice Octo and Freezard are examples of Echoes that can serve this role; neither is stated to be mandatory. You can attack with Swordfighter Form during the freeze, or let active Echoes keep hitting the boss. Repeat the freeze-and-attack cycle as openings arise.
