Larix Broadcaster YouTube Stream Out of Sync: How to Diagnose and Fix It

Compare a local recording with YouTube’s preview to find whether a Larix sync problem starts at capture, encoding or delivery. Then test one change at a time.

First find out where the sync error starts. Compare a local recording or preview with YouTube’s Live Control Room preview, then change one part of the setup at a time. If the mismatch is already local, focus on the phone and audio input; if it appears only in YouTube’s preview, inspect Larix’s encoder setup and delivery path. There is no universal Larix setting or millisecond value that fixes every audio/video sync problem.

Run a short test to locate the problem

Before changing settings, make a brief private or unlisted test using the same phone, audio input, network connection and Larix profile as the affected broadcast. Include a clear sync cue: clap once where the camera can see it and the microphone can hear it. Compare the clap in the local recording or preview with the YouTube Live Control Room preview. YouTube’s encoder workflow includes checking this preview before going live (YouTube: Create a live stream with an encoder).

  • Note whether audio leads the picture or trails it.
  • Note whether the offset stays about the same or grows as the test continues.
  • Identify the first place the mismatch appears: local result, YouTube preview, or only a viewer’s playback.

Repeat the same short test after each targeted change. Changing several things at once makes it difficult to tell which change mattered.

If audio and video are already out of sync locally

Start with the capture path rather than YouTube. Check which microphone or audio input Larix is using, including any external device, adapter or processing. Larix uses the device’s system encoder, and mobile capture and frame-rate behavior can vary by device and platform; a hardware change is not automatically a fix (Softvelum Larix FAQ).

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
  1. Run a test using the phone’s built-in camera and audio input, with optional audio processing removed.
  2. If that test is synchronized, reconnect external audio devices one at a time and test after each addition.
  3. If the built-in setup is still misaligned, record the phone model, operating system and Larix version along with the test result; the evidence points to the device capture or encoding path, but does not identify a universal device setting.

If the local result is aligned but YouTube’s preview is not

Check the connection details and outgoing stream. In YouTube’s encoder setup, confirm that Larix has the current server URL and stream key for the intended live stream. They are separate fields; verify both rather than assuming the key alone is sufficient. Then check that the encoder is sending the intended audio and video, and inspect the YouTube Live Control Room preview again (YouTube encoder setup and preview).

Next, review Larix’s connection protocol and network conditions. Larix documents different buffering behavior for RTMP/RTSP delivery and SRT recovery, and notes that network problems can increase delivery delay (Softvelum Larix FAQ). A protocol change is not a documented universal sync repair, so do not switch protocols or alter latency values blindly. Change one setting only when testing a specific connection hypothesis, then compare the same cue again.

If sync gets worse during the stream

A mismatch that grows over time is different from a steady offset: it suggests timing or delivery behavior is changing. Compare the cue at multiple points and note whether the local recording also drifts, whether the phone is under load, and whether network conditions change.

Larix discusses adaptive bitrate (ABR) as a response to delivery problems and describes buffering behavior that can affect delay. That does not establish ABR as a guaranteed correction for audio/video drift. If network delivery is a plausible cause, test a bitrate or ABR change in a short broadcast and compare the result; do not treat a better network-delivery result as proof that every sync problem has been fixed (Softvelum Larix FAQ).

Check the preview before going public

After the final change, repeat the test and compare the same cue in the local result and YouTube’s Live Control Room preview. Start the public broadcast only when the preview looks right. YouTube’s encoder workflow places preview review before selecting Go live (YouTube live-stream setup).

Why Larix buffering does not guarantee perfect sync

Larix says its interleaving buffer collects audio and video frames to align them for processing by the receiver. Its FAQ gives a typical example of about 16 frames—roughly 250 ms at 30 FPS—but that is an example of the buffer, not a universal end-to-end delay or a correction value to enter. Larix also explains that total latency includes device sensor and encoder time, Larix buffering, transport behavior and platform delivery stages; it controls only part of that chain (Softvelum Larix FAQ, Q7).

Common dead ends and how to avoid them

  • Looking for a universal sync slider or millisecond value: the official Larix and YouTube instructions cited here do not provide a universal offset value or a Larix-to-YouTube sync-fix sequence. Diagnose where the error begins instead.
  • Changing protocol, bitrate and audio hardware together: this obscures the cause. Make one change, then repeat the same test.
  • Buying a microphone or adapter before isolating the input: consider a different audio device only if tests show the mismatch follows the external input. No hardware purchase is established as a general fix.
  • Relying only on a viewer’s playback: if YouTube’s preview is aligned but a viewer reports a mismatch, playback conditions may be involved. Compare more than one playback situation before changing the capture setup.

When to contact Larix support

If the offset persists, send Larix support the details needed to reproduce and narrow it down:

  • Phone model, operating system and Larix version
  • Selected audio source and any external audio device or adapter
  • Connection type and the Larix profile used
  • Whether audio leads or trails, and whether the offset is constant or grows
  • Whether the local result and YouTube preview show the same problem

Larix directs users to its documentation and helpdesk through the official FAQ.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is to keep uploaded videos looping as a YouTube live stream, rather than troubleshoot a live camera feed, StreamNeo runs the stream from the cloud: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; each slot streams uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. This is for uploaded videos and YouTube streams, not a live camera feed. Start your free day on StreamNeo.
