The set number is the quickest way to identify which one you have. Their scale, design, play features, and figure counts differ substantially.
At a glance: the three LEGO Arkham Asylum sets
| Set | Release and style | Pieces | Figures | Original US retail price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7785 Arkham Asylum | 2006 LEGO Batman set | 860 according to Brickset; BrickLink catalogs 831 parts for 7785-1 | 7, according to both Brickset and BrickLink | $79.99, historical Brickset listing |
| 70912 Arkham Asylum | 2017 set in The LEGO Batman Movie line | 1,628, according to LEGO | 12, according to LEGO; Brickset catalogs 13 | $149.99, historical Brickset listing |
| 76300 Arkham Asylum | Adult-oriented display model | 2,953, according to LEGO’s US product page accessed in 2026 | 16, according to LEGO’s US product page accessed in 2026 | $299.99 on LEGO’s US listing accessed in 2026; price can change |
The catalog differences for 7785’s parts and 70912’s minifigures are unresolved: Brickset and BrickLink do not agree on 7785’s part count, while LEGO’s page and Brickset differ on 70912’s figure count. These totals should be read with their named sources rather than treated as settled reconciled counts. What is different about each Arkham set?
7785: the 2006 version
Set 7785 is the earliest of these releases. Brickset lists it as a 2006 set with seven minifigures and an 8–12 age range. Its original US retail price was $79.99, according to Brickset; that is a historical launch price, not a current resale quote. Brickset records 860 pieces, while BrickLink catalogs 831 parts for 7785-1, so neither number should be presented as an uncontested total. Brickset · BrickLink
70912: a movie-inspired playset
Set 70912 is explicitly part of The LEGO Batman Movie range, and LEGO now marks it as retired. LEGO lists 1,628 pieces and describes a building organized around play spaces: Dr. Harleen Quinzel’s office, a ward office, four cells, an X-ray security scanner, a canteen, visitors’ room, and laundry room. The set also includes a separate five-story lookout tower and a police car. That combination makes its layout and accessories a defining difference from the newer display-oriented model. 76300: a larger adult display model
LEGO presents set 76300 for ages 18 and up. Its US product page accessed in 2026 lists 2,953 pieces and 16 minifigures, placing it above the earlier sets by LEGO’s stated piece count. Rather than the five-story lookout tower and police car described for 70912, 76300’s listed features include a model that separates into three sections—the first floor, second floor, and roof—with removable interior access, opening prison cells, and an inmate delivery van. The build includes 65 stickers, transparent display stands, a printed building guide, and a digital version in LEGO Builder. LEGO 76300 product page

Which one should you choose?
- For the earliest release: look for 7785, the 2006 set. Verify the set number, since “Arkham Asylum” alone does not distinguish it from later releases.
- For a room-filled movie playset: 70912 is the LEGO Batman Movie version, with multiple named rooms, a separate tower, and police car.
- For a larger adult build and display: 76300 is LEGO’s 18+ model, with a three-section building, opening cells, display stands, and a 16-minifigure lineup.
If you are buying, treat original retail prices as historical context only. LEGO identifies 70912 as retired, and marketplace stock and resale prices for retired sets can change; check a current seller listing rather than assuming an old retail figure is available today. LEGO’s 76300 page showed “Will ship in 60 days” and a backorder option when accessed in 2026; those are temporary listing details, not permanent specifications.
