LEGO Astro Bot 40899 is a compact, poseable display model with 276 pieces—not a game or console accessory. Its movable head and arms, swappable eye pieces and included stand make it appealing as a PlayStation shelf collectible. An independent review also reports detachable arm and leg joints during handling, so it is best approached as a display build rather than a toy for rough play. Whether it is available free with another purchase depends on the retailer and market; check the live offer terms and checkout before spending.
What LEGO Astro Bot 40899 includes
LEGO’s US product listing describes the set as an 18+ model with 276 pieces and a US listed price of $19.99. The model has a posable head and arms, round and half-moon eye pieces for changing its expression, a cape, propulsion effects, stickers and a display stand. LEGO lists its assembled size, including the stand, as over 8 in. (20 cm) high, 4.5 in. (12 cm) wide and 2.5 in. (7 cm) deep. LEGO’s product listing
PlayStation’s UK offer page also identifies it as set 40899, a 276-piece LEGO model for ages 18 and over. It gives approximate dimensions of H200 x W120 x D70 mm and says the box includes a stand and step-by-step guide. PlayStation UK’s offer page
How the build works as a display collectible
Posing and expression
The set’s main draw is how much character it can show despite its small footprint. LEGO says on its product listing: “Turn the PlayStation® hero’s head fully and move his arms in different directions for dynamic posing options; swap his eyes from round to half-moon shapes to change expressions.” The alternate eyes offer a quick way to change the look without rebuilding the figure.

Jack Yates’s hands-on review for Brick Fanatics, published October 4, 2026, also highlights the articulation and customizable face. Yates reports that Astro Bot can stand without the included display stand, giving owners some flexibility over how they show it. That is the reviewer’s observation, rather than a separate test by this publication. Brick Fanatics’ review
Joint retention and finish
Yates reports that the arm and leg joints can detach during handling, though they are easy to reattach. That matters if you expect to reposition the model often: the poseability is useful, but handling may require occasional reassembly. The review also notes three stickers and one printed nameplate element, so not every decorative detail is printed directly on a piece. These are the reviewer’s hands-on findings, not official LEGO specifications.

Brick Fanatics lists a 25-minute build time in its fact file. Treat that as the publisher’s estimate for its review, not a guaranteed duration for every builder.
Is 40899 worth adding to a collection?
Astro Bot 40899 makes the most sense for fans who want a small, recognizable PlayStation display piece with a few ways to vary its pose and expression. Its listed dimensions suit a desk or shelf where space is limited, and the stand is included. The independent review’s reported detachable joints and use of stickers are real trade-offs for a model whose appeal depends partly on posing and finish.

There is no single promotion rule that applies to every retailer and country. PlayStation UK describes a specific combined-purchase offer; Brick Fanatics separately reports LEGO.com spending thresholds in several regions. Those are different purchase routes, so do not assume a threshold reported for one retailer applies to another.
