Its homage comes through familiar details you can interact with: functional Open and Power buttons, a controller that plugs into the console, and two removable miniature game scenes inside.
What is the LEGO PlayStation set?
Set 72306 recreates the original PlayStation console and controller in what LEGO describes as near 1:1 scale. It is designed for adults ages 18 and up and contains 1,911 pieces. Once assembled, it measures over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep, according to LEGO’s September 3, 2026 announcement.
The result is a compact display build shaped around the original system’s recognizable silhouette. The set’s buttons and opening shell make it more interactive than a static model, but they do not turn it into a playable console.
What works on the model—and what does not?
The console’s Open and Power buttons function as physical features of the LEGO build, and the brick-built controller plugs into the front. The console shell opens to reveal two small game-themed dioramas. Both can be removed and displayed separately.
