Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf the original PlayStation is the part of gaming history you want on your shelf, LEGO PlayStation (72306) is the clearest pick: it builds a near 1:1 console with its controller and hides small Gran Turismo and Ape Escape scenes inside. It is not a standalone Gran Turismo car set or a playable racing game. Choose another LEGO gaming set if a different franchise, a mechanical feature, or a play-focused model matters more.
What you get in LEGO PlayStation 72306
Announced by the LEGO Group on September 3, 2026, the age-18+ display model has 1,911 pieces and an announced US suggested retail price of $179.99. LEGO lists general release for October 4, 2026, after LEGO Insiders early access beginning October 1. The price is specific to the US announcement; prices elsewhere and retailer pricing can differ. See LEGO’s announcement and the official US product listing.
The build represents the original PlayStation at near 1:1 scale and includes the original-style controller, which plugs into the console. Model Open and Power buttons function, and opening the console reveals brick-built scenes inspired by Gran Turismo (originally released in 1997) and Ape Escape (1999). LEGO describes the scenes as concealed dioramas that can also be removed and displayed separately. The Gran Turismo scene includes a miniature track and small cars, not a full car collection.
How the alternatives differ
| Set | Format and standout feature | Pieces | Price and availability in the official US listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| LEGO PlayStation (72306) | Near 1:1 original PlayStation console and controller; opens to reveal Gran Turismo and Ape Escape dioramas. | 1,911 (LEGO Group, 2026) | $179.99 announced US suggested retail price; general release date October 4, 2026. Check the live listing for current status. |
| LEGO NES (71374) | NES console, controller and cartridge with a retro TV featuring a scrolling screen. | 2,646 (LEGO product listing accessed October 4, 2026) | LEGO’s US listing labels it a retired product; current resale availability and prices are not established by that listing. Check the official listing. |
| LEGO PAC-MAN Arcade (10323) | Arcade cabinet with a mechanical maze, illuminated coin slot and a small arcade scene. | 2,651 (LEGO product listing accessed October 4, 2026) | The official US page showed it as sold out in the snapshot accessed October 4, 2026; that does not establish availability in other regions or later. Check the official listing. |
The piece counts and product features above come from LEGO’s listings, not independent build tests. For the NES, LEGO’s listing provides specifications and a retired label; for PAC-MAN, the inspected US page showed sold out. Neither status guarantees what a retailer or reseller has in stock now.

Which one should you buy?
Choose PlayStation 72306 for Sony console nostalgia
Pick it if the original PlayStation and its controller are the main attraction, and you like the idea of discovering two small game-inspired scenes inside the console. The Gran Turismo reference is a bonus built into a console replica, rather than the set’s whole premise. Its 1,911 pieces and announced $179.99 US suggested retail price make it the only option here with a current announced price, though the effective price depends on where and when you shop.
Choose the NES if you want a console-and-TV display
The NES model is the better thematic fit if Nintendo hardware is your priority and you want the console, cartridge and controller paired with a TV feature. LEGO marks the US product as retired, so assess the seller, condition and total price before buying; the official listing does not establish current secondary-market pricing.
Choose PAC-MAN for an arcade cabinet and mechanism
PAC-MAN Arcade suits someone more interested in an arcade object and its mechanical maze than in a home console replica. The illuminated coin slot and small arcade scene give it a different display format. Its official US listing showed sold out in the October 4, 2026 snapshot, so confirm current availability in your region.

Look beyond these display models if you want active play
LEGO’s US gaming catalog covers more franchises and product formats than these three adult nostalgia builds. If you want character-led play rather than a display model, compare the current catalog’s play sets as well as its collector-oriented products. Make the decision around your shelf, budget and seller
- Start with the franchise: prioritize the console or game world you would most enjoy seeing on display.
- Decide what kind of object you want: PlayStation is a console replica with concealed scenes; NES pairs hardware with a TV feature; PAC-MAN centers on an arcade cabinet and mechanism.
- Check the footprint and display plan: all three are substantial display builds, but the supplied product listings do not establish exact assembled dimensions here. Confirm dimensions on the current listing before planning a shelf.
- Verify the actual offer: availability and price can vary by region, seller and date. For retired or sold-out products, compare seller reputation, completeness, condition and total cost rather than assuming LEGO’s old listing reflects the market.
LEGO’s official product information establishes listed features and piece counts, but it does not establish build time, resale value, comparative build quality, or which set an individual buyer will enjoy most.
