Wait for Ocarina of Time – Link & Epona if that specific character-and-mount display is what you want and you are willing to wait for its reported spring 2027 release. The Link & Epona set’s price and full retail details have not been confirmed in the available reporting, so there is not enough information to judge its value against the Deku Tree.
Great Deku Tree or Link & Epona: what is the difference?
The key difference is what you want to display: a large, configurable version of the Great Deku Tree or Link riding Epona. The Great Deku Tree is a released 2,500-piece, 18+ set with four minifigures. Link & Epona is a reported 1,750-piece collectible display model, but its price, dimensions, contents and exact launch date have not been confirmed in the reviewed sources.

| Audience and format | LEGO lists it as 18+ and describes it as a display model. | Reported as an adult collectible display model; a full official LEGO listing was not available in the reviewed sources. |
| Characters and contents | Four minifigures: Princess Zelda and three versions of Link. | Full box contents have not been established in the reviewed sources. |
| Dimensions | The Ocarina of Time version stands over 33 cm (13 in); the Breath of the Wild version stands over 31 cm (12 in), according to LEGO. | Not stated in the reviewed sources. |

Who should choose the Great Deku Tree?
Pick 77092 if you want an established set with published specifications and do not mind choosing between its two tree designs. LEGO describes the set as a build of the tree from Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild; the alternatives are not built simultaneously. Its four minifigures include Princess Zelda and three versions of Link, giving the display more characters than the tree alone.
The documented size may help if you are planning shelf space: the Ocarina of Time build is over 33 cm (13 in) tall, while the Breath of the Wild build is over 31 cm (12 in), according to LEGO. The LEGO UK listing showed £259.99 and sold-out status when checked, so check your local LEGO store or retailers for current regional stock and pricing before deciding.

Who should wait for Link & Epona?
Wait if your preferred scene is Link riding Epona and the Great Deku Tree’s alternate builds do not appeal to you as much. Brick Fanatics reported in 2026 that the model is expected in spring 2027 and has 1,750 pieces. Those are reported announcement details, not a complete retail specification: the reviewed sources did not establish its price, exact release day, official set number, dimensions or full box contents.
That missing information matters for a purchase decision. Until LEGO publishes a full product listing, you cannot make a grounded comparison of price, display footprint or included characters. Treat the spring 2027 window as provisional rather than as a confirmed launch day.

Should you compare the sets by piece count or price?
No. The Great Deku Tree has 2,500 pieces and Link & Epona is reported at 1,750, but piece count alone does not establish which set is better value. Their subjects and build formats differ, and a confirmed Link & Epona price is not available in the reviewed sources. The Great Deku Tree’s original US RRP of $299.99 was announced by LEGO in 2024; it is not a verified current resale or retailer price.

LEGO’s Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle (77093) is a separate set, not another name for Link & Epona. LEGO announced it for purchase from 1 March 2026 with a US RRP of $129.99. It has 1,003 pieces and depicts the castle confrontation, with Link, Princess Zelda and Ganondorf minifigures, a large Ganon figure and Navi. Those price and contents belong to 77093 and should not be attributed to Link & Epona.
