What is new compared with the original Legion Go?
OLED screen with variable refresh rate
The original announcement highlights an 8.8-inch OLED touchscreen at 1920 × 1200, with a 144Hz refresh rate and VRR from 30Hz to 144Hz. Those are Lenovo’s stated display specifications; they do not, on their own, establish brightness in real-world use, image quality, or game performance.

More battery capacity, but no runtime figure
Lenovo lists a 74Wh battery and says its capacity is “over 50% higher” than the previous-generation Legion Go. That comparison concerns battery capacity only. Lenovo’s announcement does not give a measured number of hours of play, which would also depend on the game, settings, and usage.
Redesigned detachable controllers
The detachable Legion TrueStrike controllers have revised button placement and ergonomically shaped lines, in Lenovo’s description. The listed features include Hall effect joysticks, a pivot D-pad, and three programmable buttons configurable through Legion Space. In FPS mode, the right controller can be used as a vertical mouse. A built-in kickstand supports play with the controllers detached.

Lenovo says the redesigned controllers are backwards-compatible with the first-generation Legion Go. That statement is about the controllers; it does not establish compatibility of the complete handheld or unrelated accessories.
Higher configuration ceilings
Lenovo lists configurations reaching up to a Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and Radeon 890M graphics, 32GB of 8000MHz LPDDR5X memory, and 2TB of internal PCIe Gen 4 storage. These are maximum announced options, not a guarantee that each regional SKU combines all of them. The microSD reader offers a separate expansion route, with support listed for cards up to 2TB.

Price and availability: what Lenovo said in 2025
Lenovo’s September 5, 2025 announcement said availability would start in September 2025, with an expected starting price of €999. The release framed that price in euros for its European show announcement. It should not be treated as a verified current price, current availability, or a price applicable in every country.

For a purchase decision, verify the exact regional configuration and current price with the retailer. In particular, check which processor, memory, and storage options are in the SKU rather than assuming it has every listed maximum. The large 8.8-inch screen and detachable-controller design may be central to whether the device suits your preferred way to play; its listed weight is 920g with controllers attached.

- Check game and software needs against Windows 11 and the controls you expect to use.
- Confirm whether a case, charger, microSD card, or screen protector is included or sold separately. The announcement lists connectivity and expansion specifications but does not identify particular third-party accessories or confirm regional package contents.
- For comparisons with another handheld, use the exact regional configuration and compare display, controls, weight, storage expansion, operating system, warranty, and local support—not just the processor name.
