Lenovo’s Legion R27qe gaming monitor was reported as launching in China on May 31, 2024, for 999 yuan. The launch coverage called it the R27qe-30; Lenovo’s official specification sheet calls the product Legion R27qe. Lenovo lists a 27-inch 2560×1440 IPS panel with a maximum 180Hz refresh rate. The 999-yuan figure is a historical China-market launch price, not a verified current U.S. price.
What launched—and which model name is correct?
Gizmochina reported the China launch on May 31, 2024, using the name Lenovo Legion R27qe-30. Lenovo’s international Product Specifications Reference (PSREF), dated June 25, 2024, identifies a monitor as Lenovo Legion R27qe and warns that specifications can vary by region and change without notice. The reviewed documentation does not establish whether “-30” is a regional or retail suffix for the same unit, so buyers should confirm the exact model number on any listing.
Do not conflate it with the Legion R27q-30, a separately named model, or the later Legion R27qe Gen 2, for which Lenovo documents different specifications, including 200Hz. The launch name and China pricing come from Gizmochina’s May 2024 report; the technical details below are from Lenovo’s R27qe PSREF.

What 180Hz means in practice
Lenovo documents 180Hz over DisplayPort and lists the same 1440p/180Hz mode for its HDMI 2.1 TMDS inputs. That does not guarantee 180Hz from every computer or console: the graphics output, cable, adapter or dock, selected input, and display mode all matter. DisplayPort is the straightforward PC choice when targeting the maximum refresh rate.
If a Windows PC initially runs at 60Hz, open Settings → System → Display → Advanced display, select the monitor, and choose the highest available refresh rate. Menu wording can vary by Windows version. If 180Hz is absent, check the GPU driver, connection and cable, monitor input selection, resolution, and any dock or adapter in the signal path.
The 180Hz ceiling is useful for PC gaming when the system can render high frame rates at 1440p. Lenovo also lists AMD FreeSync and VESA Adaptive-Sync, but that does not establish identical variable-refresh-rate behavior with every graphics card, console, or connection combination. Lenovo’s PSREF specifically notes AMD FreeSync support with AMD Radeon graphics cards. The sheet does not explain how MPRT modes interact with adaptive sync on every firmware version, so check the monitor’s on-screen display if using motion-blur reduction.
Gaming features and their limits
DisplayHDR 400 is an entry-level HDR certification, not a promise of OLED-like blacks or high-end HDR. The listed 1000:1 typical contrast is a conventional IPS figure, so dark-scene contrast may be less dramatic than on displays designed for deeper blacks. Lenovo also lists Natural Low Blue Light and TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free and hardware-based Low Blue Light certifications; these are feature and certification claims, not a guarantee against eye strain.

The 0.5ms MPRT and up-to-1ms response-time figures are Lenovo specification claims, not independent measurements of pixel transitions or overall motion performance. The reviewed sources provide no independent results for input lag, overshoot, VRR range, backlight uniformity, factory calibration, or HDR brightness behavior.
Stand, ports, and what is in the box
The stand supports tilt from −5° to +22°, swivel 30° left and right, pivot from −90° to +90°, and up to 120mm of height adjustment. Combined with 100×100mm VESA mounting, that is more flexible than a tilt-only stand and suits both desk work and portrait orientation.
Lenovo lists two HDMI 2.1 TMDS inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a 3.5mm audio output. The PSREF does not list USB-C, a USB hub, speakers, or a webcam, so buyers who need those should choose another display or plan separate accessories. Listed box contents are a DisplayPort cable, power cable, four screws, quick setup guide, and warranty booklet.
Lenovo gives the monitor’s weight as approximately 6.14kg with the stand and 4.30kg for the head alone. The stand’s height range is 385–505mm; width is approximately 613.2mm. Listed power consumption is 22W typical and 46W maximum, with an internal power supply rated for 100–240V AC.

Was 999 yuan real, and where can you buy it?
Gizmochina reported a 999-yuan China retail price at launch, approximately $141 using the conversion in that May 2024 report. It also reported a temporary 10-yuan retailer discount, including at JD.com. That conversion is historical, and the price was tied to the Chinese market; it does not include any assurance about international shipping, taxes, import fees, warranty, or reseller markup.
The same report said Lenovo had not announced a global launch at that time. A later Lenovo Spain R27qe product page shows that the R27qe name has appeared outside China, but the reviewed page text does not establish a current price or U.S. availability. Current China and U.S. pricing could not be confirmed from the cited sources. Availability, suffixes, and warranty terms can differ by market.
For an imported unit, verify the exact model number, seller reputation, local warranty and service process, plug and included accessories, return and dead-pixel policies, and whether the advertised price includes shipping, tax, and duties. The name discrepancy matters: ask the seller to identify whether the offer is R27qe, R27qe-30, R27q-30, or R27qe Gen 2 rather than relying on a shortened listing title.
Quick Recap
Who is it for?
- A plausible fit: PC gamers seeking 27-inch 1440p with a high refresh rate, people sharing a screen between gaming and work, and buyers who value height adjustment and portrait rotation.
- Less suitable: Buyers who prioritize premium HDR, 240Hz or faster competitive play, 4K/120Hz console output, USB-C video or laptop charging, a USB hub, speakers, or KVM features.
- Import buyers: The launch specification looked compelling at 999 yuan in China, but an overseas purchase only makes sense after confirming the exact unit, landed cost, return terms, and warranty coverage.
