Lenovo’s Xiaoxin Pro 13 and fifth-generation Legion Y700 are no longer upcoming products. Lenovo confirmed the China launch event on March 4, 2026, held the launch on March 18, and later listed retail versions in China. The compact Legion Y700 Gen 5 is also represented internationally by the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5, while the Xiaoxin Pro 13 remains primarily a China-market tablet in the information currently available.
The lineup also includes the more powerful Xiaoxin Pro GT 13, which uses the same large-screen concept with a flagship Snapdragon processor.
Lenovo’s 2026 tablet launch dates explained
There are three dates worth separating:
- March 4, 2026: Lenovo confirmed that its AI-tablet event would take place on March 18.
- March 18, 2026: Lenovo launched the Xiaoxin Pro 13 series and fifth-generation Legion Y700 in China.
- April 1, 2026: Lenovo’s international PSREF lists this as the product date for the global Legion Tab Gen 5.
That means the original “launch date” news referred to an upcoming China event, not the final retail availability of every regional model. The international Legion Tab Gen 5 should be treated separately from Chinese store listings and configurations.
Lenovo’s March 4 announcement named the fifth-generation Legion Y700 and Xiaoxin Pro 13 series. The March 18 launch also introduced the Xiaoxin Pro GT 13, a higher-performance 13-inch model that is easy to confuse with the regular Pro 13.

Prices are regional launch figures, not direct currency equivalents. Chinese first-sale prices, government subsidies, education discounts and later store prices should not be treated as interchangeable.
Xiaoxin Pro 13 specifications and price
The regular Xiaoxin Pro 13 is the value-focused large tablet in Lenovo’s China lineup. It pairs a 13-inch high-resolution display with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 rather than the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 used in the GT model and Y700 Gen 5.

The display is the main reason to choose the Pro 13. Its 13-inch canvas is better suited to documents, split-screen apps, studying and video than the compact Y700 format. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 should provide strong general performance, but Lenovo’s pricing positions this model below the flagship-chip options for demanding gaming and emulation.
Lenovo’s reported Chinese subsidy pricing was approximately ¥1,870–¥2,805, while education pricing was approximately ¥1,785–¥2,720. Those prices are eligibility-dependent and should not be presented as ordinary retail prices. A later Lenovo China listing showed an 8GB/128GB model at ¥2,299, illustrating why launch pricing and current store pricing need separate labels.
Do not confuse this Android tablet with a Lenovo laptop that uses a similar “Pro 13” name.
Xiaoxin Pro GT 13 is the flagship 13-inch option
The Xiaoxin Pro GT 13 was launched alongside the other tablets and fills an important gap in the range. It keeps the large 13-inch, 3.5K-class, 144Hz display concept but upgrades to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

China launch pricing began at approximately ¥2,799 and reached about ¥3,599. Lenovo’s surfaced store information also showed an 8GB/256GB listing at ¥2,999, so buyers should check the selected SKU and current price.
This is the more appropriate 13-inch model for buyers who want extra CPU and GPU headroom for demanding games, emulation and multitasking. The regular Xiaoxin Pro 13 remains the better value choice when screen size matters more than maximum performance.
Legion Y700 Gen 5 specifications
The Legion Y700 Gen 5 is Lenovo’s compact gaming tablet for China. Its 8.8-inch format is considerably easier to hold in landscape orientation than a 13-inch tablet, making it a better fit for touch controls, gamepads and portable play.

The Chinese launch coverage reported a starting price of approximately ¥3,999 for a 12GB/256GB configuration, with higher configurations reaching approximately ¥6,399. Lenovo’s later Chinese product information listed a 16GB/512GB Wi-Fi version at ¥5,099 on July 23, 2026. These figures refer to different listings or pricing moments, so the specific SKU matters.
Lenovo’s Chinese product page lists two USB-C ports, which is useful for charging while connecting accessories or other peripherals. The high-refresh 165Hz panel, compact body and flagship Snapdragon chip make the Y700 Gen 5 the gaming-first choice of the three Chinese models.

Brightness figures vary by regional documentation. Lenovo China support material identifies 800 nits, while earlier reporting on the international Legion Tab variant cited 600 nits. Those figures should be kept attached to their respective regional specifications rather than merged into one universal claim.

Lenovo uses different names by market:
- Legion Y700 Gen 5: China-market name.
- Legion Tab Gen 5: international-market name and the closely corresponding global version.
- Xiaoxin Pro 13: China-market large Android tablet.
- Idea Tab Pro Gen 2: a likely global counterpart or market analogue to the Xiaoxin Pro 13, but not confirmed in the cited sources as identical hardware.
- Xiaoxin Pro GT 13: a separate, faster 13-inch model.
Lenovo’s international PSREF identifies the Legion Tab Gen 5 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, UFS 4.1 Pro-class storage and an April 1, 2026 product date. Lenovo’s MWC material listed April 2026 availability with an estimated starting price of €999. The Lenovo U.S. product page confirms the international product positioning, but the surfaced information does not provide a dependable current U.S. retail price.
Configurations, brightness, storage expansion, software, accessories and warranty coverage can differ between the Chinese Y700 and global Legion Tab. “Global version” should therefore not be read as a guarantee that every specification is identical.

Which Lenovo tablet should you buy?
Choose the Xiaoxin Pro 13 for large-screen value
It is the best fit for study, documents, split-screen work, streaming and general-purpose use. Its 13-inch 3504×2190 display is the standout feature, and the lower China launch price makes it attractive to import shoppers who accept the software and warranty trade-offs.
Choose the Xiaoxin Pro GT 13 for large-screen performance
The GT 13 is the choice when you want the 13-inch format but do not want the regular Pro 13’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 performance tier. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is better suited to heavier gaming, emulation and demanding multitasking, at a higher price.
Choose the Legion Y700 Gen 5 for gaming and portability
The 8.8-inch 165Hz display, flagship processor, dual USB-C ports and 9,000mAh typical battery make it the natural gaming and emulation option. It is easier to grip and carry, but offers substantially less workspace than either 13-inch Xiaoxin model.
Choose the global Legion Tab Gen 5 for simpler ownership
For buyers in the United States and Europe, the Legion Tab Gen 5 is generally the safer route because it is sold as an international Lenovo product with regional software, support and warranty channels. The Chinese Y700 may have a lower nominal price, but the final cost can rise after shipping, taxes and reseller markup.

LCD expectations and AI claims
The cited specifications describe high-refresh tablet panels; they do not establish that these displays are OLED. Buyers comparing them with OLED gaming tablets should not assume equivalent black levels, contrast or response characteristics.
Lenovo’s “AI tablet” label is product positioning, not a guarantee that every AI feature is available everywhere. AI functions can depend on firmware, language, region, account, app and service availability. The Snapdragon processor alone does not prove that a particular AI feature will work on an imported device.
What is still unconfirmed
- There is no cited confirmation that the Xiaoxin Pro 13 will receive a U.S. launch under that name.
- The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 should be described as a likely counterpart, not definitively identical hardware.
- A reliable current U.S. price for the Legion Tab Gen 5 should be taken from Lenovo’s live store page rather than inferred from the Chinese price or converted from €999.
- Regional differences may affect brightness ratings, storage options, firmware, accessories, chargers and warranty terms.
China-import checklist
Before buying a Chinese Xiaoxin or Legion Y700 from an importer, verify all of the following with the seller:
- Google services: confirm whether Google Play is installed and functional, rather than assuming it can be added without complications.
- Language support: check whether the firmware offers English or your preferred language throughout system menus and bundled apps.
- DRM and streaming: ask about Widevine certification and the streaming resolution supported by the exact SKU and firmware.
- Updates: confirm whether official firmware updates are available outside China and how they are delivered.
- Warranty: determine whether Lenovo will service the imported model in your country or whether the seller handles all repairs.
- Returns: account for international return shipping, restocking policies and dead-on-arrival coverage.
- Charger and accessories: check plug compatibility and whether keyboards, cases and pens are designed for the exact regional model.
- Cellular compatibility: if buying a cellular version, verify supported bands and local certification. Do not assume a China-market radio configuration works on every U.S. or European network.
- Storage SKU: confirm RAM, internal storage and whether microSD/TF expansion is present on that specific model.
Bottom line
The March 18 China launch produced three distinct choices: the affordable, large-screen Xiaoxin Pro 13; the faster Xiaoxin Pro GT 13; and the compact gaming-focused Legion Y700 Gen 5. International buyers should look primarily at the Legion Tab Gen 5, while anyone importing a Xiaoxin or Y700 should compare the real landed cost and software support—not just the Chinese sticker price.
