You can play the free Little Nightmares III demo on supported PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo platforms. It is a standalone sample of the Necropolis chapter—not the first 30 minutes of the full game—and demo progress does not transfer. A secondary estimate puts a playthrough at about 30 minutes.
What’s in the Little Nightmares III demo?
The demo takes you into the Necropolis, a desert city in the Spiral, where you encounter Monster Baby. It previews the game’s exploration, hazards, puzzles, and the tools used by its protagonists, Low and Alone. Bandai Namco describes it as a glimpse of the chapter, not as the opening segment of the full game. Bandai Namco’s official game page lists a Play Trial for the platforms below. Its September 2025 demo announcement also names Xbox One and PC. Because platform storefronts and regional availability can differ, confirm the listing for your system before downloading.

Can you play solo or in co-op?
Yes. Solo play pairs you with an AI-controlled companion. You can also play online co-op with a friend; Xbox Wire says co-op is on the same platform. The available sources do not establish cross-platform multiplayer, so don’t assume friends on different console families or PC can join the same session. How long is the Little Nightmares 3 demo?
PC Gamer estimated that the demo takes about 30 minutes to play. That is a secondary estimate, not an official time limit or guaranteed playtime; exploration and puzzle-solving pace can affect how long it takes. PC Gamer’s report is the source for the approximate duration.
Does demo progress carry over to the full game?
No. The demo is a self-contained preview, and progress does not carry into the full game. Global Producer Coralie Feniello wrote on Xbox Wire: “Progress made in the demo will not carry over to the final game – it’s designed as a self-contained glimpse into the Nowhere, a taste of what’s to come.”

Is the full game out?
Yes. Little Nightmares III launched on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, according to Bandai Namco’s launch announcement. The demo is free and can be played without buying the full game.
