If its scheduled start time has passed, first confirm the event and its time zone, then make sure LiveReacting—or your external encoder—is sending to that exact event. There is no single cause established for every stuck-upcoming stream, so check the actual event and feed before changing keys or privacy settings.
First, confirm what “upcoming” refers to
Check both the YouTube watch page and YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. YouTube says a stream scheduled for later may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds; that label by itself does not mean anything is broken. If the event’s scheduled start time has passed and it still appears upcoming, continue through the checks below. YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance describes scheduled streams and their settings.
Check the event and scheduled time

In YouTube Studio, verify that the scheduled event exists and that you are looking at the intended event—not another broadcast on the channel.

Compare the event’s scheduled start with the time zone on the device used to schedule it through LiveReacting. LiveReacting says its scheduling uses the device time zone and supports scheduling YouTube videos up to two weeks ahead. A time-zone mismatch can make the event seem late or early to you.

Check the event’s start time again in YouTube Studio. Do not assume a delay or an incorrect clock from the “upcoming” label alone.

If LiveReacting is connected directly to YouTube

Open the relevant LiveReacting project and connect the YouTube channel that owns the scheduled event.

Open Settings, then Advanced Settings.

Enable Connect to existing stream and select the exact scheduled event from the dropdown.

Verify that the selected event is the same one you are checking in YouTube Studio. LiveReacting says that when you select an existing event this way, its title and description are pulled from the channel.
If the event was created separately in YouTube, selecting it here is the documented connection path; merely having an event on the channel does not confirm that the project is attached to it.
If you are using OBS or another external encoder
With an external encoder, check both the YouTube destination and the encoder’s outgoing feed. A YouTube stream key is credential and destination information that tells the encoder where to send the feed. The encoder needs to send to the intended scheduled event using the corresponding key. YouTube explains stream-key settings in its live-stream guidance.

Confirm that the encoder is configured for the intended event, not a different scheduled broadcast or a separate stream destination.

Check whether YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room shows an incoming feed for that event.

If a channel owner or manager resets the key in YouTube Studio, update the encoder with the newly generated key. Resetting is not a first troubleshooting step when the existing key is correctly configured.

Never post or send a stream key publicly; treat it as a credential.
Check privacy without treating it as the presumed cause
YouTube offers public, private, and unlisted privacy settings. LiveReacting also documents that a private preview may be visible only to the creator, and that interactive elements require the stream to be public. Check privacy if the question is who can see the stream, but the available documentation does not establish privacy as the cause of an event remaining upcoming. YouTube’s settings guidance covers privacy options; LiveReacting describes preview behavior in its Help Center.

Plugin Mode is an alternative workflow, not a guaranteed repair
LiveReacting lists OBS, Wirecast, StreamYard, and Ecamm as third-party software choices through Plugin Mode. In that setup, the feed is started in the encoder software, and the destination and stream key need to match the intended YouTube event. Switching modes may suit your workflow, but LiveReacting does not say that changing modes alone fixes an event stuck as upcoming. LiveReacting’s configuration guidance describes Plugin Mode.

Before contacting support, write down the concrete state so the relevant team can investigate rather than guess:

The YouTube event URL and scheduled start time, including the time zone.

The YouTube channel connected to the LiveReacting project and the event selected in that project.

Whether you use LiveReacting directly or an external encoder, and whether YouTube’s Live Control Room shows an incoming feed.

Any visible status or error message in LiveReacting or YouTube Studio.
Do not include the stream key in a public post or an unsecured support message. Public documentation cannot inspect your project, event selection, encoder feed, or Live Control Room state; the actual configuration is needed to identify a particular cause.
