Logitech G announced the PRO X 60 LIGHTSPEED Gaming Keyboard on April 9, 2024. It is a wireless 60% keyboard aimed at competitive players who want more room for mouse movement, easier transport, and extensive remapping through Logitech G HUB. Its launch MSRP was $179.99 in the United States, with black, white, and pink color options.
The PRO X 60’s strongest case is its combination of LIGHTSPEED wireless performance, compact size, optical switches, and KEYCONTROL software. Its biggest compromises are the missing dedicated arrow and function keys, lack of hot-swappable switches, tall profile, and premium launch price. It makes the most sense for buyers specifically seeking a compact Logitech wireless board—not for everyone who wants a small keyboard.
What Logitech announced
The PRO X 60 is Logitech G’s compact 60% gaming keyboard, designed with competitive gaming and portability in mind. Logitech said the design was informed by more than 70 professional athletes and numerous prototypes, but that claim describes the product’s design process rather than proving it is the best keyboard for every player.
Preorders opened at launch, with availability at major participating retailers expected in late April 2024. Logitech announced a U.S. launch price of $179.99 and a European launch price of €229. The pink version is also commonly described as magenta in independent coverage. These are launch prices, not verified current prices.

Logitech’s announcement positions the keyboard as a way to gain mouse space without giving up the customization normally associated with a larger board.
What a 60% layout means
A 60% keyboard keeps the main letter, number, and modifier keys but removes several dedicated sections found on a conventional keyboard. The PRO X 60 has no separate:
- Function row
- Arrow-key cluster
- Navigation block
- Number pad
Those functions remain available through Fn combinations or software remapping. That can work well in games, where a smaller board leaves more room for a mouse, but it is less convenient for spreadsheet work, document editing, coding, or frequent navigation-key use. KEYCONTROL expands the logical functions of the board; it does not physically add the missing keys.

KEYCONTROL is the main differentiator
KEYCONTROL is Logitech’s G HUB customization system for the PRO X 60. According to Logitech, it supports base-layer remapping, a G-SHIFT layer activated by holding an assigned key, additional keyboard layers, macros, media controls, system actions, and application shortcuts.
Logitech says users can create up to 15 assignments per key. G-SHIFT can also be assigned to another Logitech G device, such as a compatible mouse, allowing a mouse button to act as a modifier for alternate keyboard functions. G HUB also supports community-shared mapping presets.

In practice, this lets you assign arrow keys, function keys, media controls, or game-specific commands to otherwise unused combinations. The trade-off is that you must hold a modifier, switch profiles, or remember an alternate layer. A remapped arrow key is not as immediate as a physical arrow-key cluster, and much of the PRO X 60’s flexibility depends on installing and configuring G HUB.

These figures come from Logitech’s support documentation and should be treated as manufacturer specifications. Battery life can vary with lighting, connection mode, and usage. The battery is not user-replaceable.
The board includes a volume wheel on the left side, a physical Game Mode control, RGB lighting, and a carrying case. The left-side wheel is an unusual but useful way to retain a dedicated media control without enlarging the keyboard.
Connectivity and what comes in the box
The PRO X 60 supports three connection modes:
- LIGHTSPEED wireless: the intended mode for low-latency gaming.
- Bluetooth: useful with laptops, tablets, and general-purpose devices.
- USB: wired data and charging.
The rear controls make switching between wireless modes convenient, according to independent coverage. However, the keyboard does not offer the kind of multi-device pairing found on many productivity-focused wireless keyboards. Bluetooth should also not be treated as equivalent to LIGHTSPEED for competitive gaming.

The box contains the keyboard, USB LIGHTSPEED receiver, USB-A-to-USB-C charging/data cable, USB extender, Logitech G keycap, carrying case, and user documentation. Logitech’s support specification page lists the included accessories and hardware details.

Switches: optical, but not hot-swappable
Buyers can choose between tactile and linear GX optical switches. Optical switches use light-based actuation, but “optical” does not mean the switches can automatically be replaced or swapped.
The PRO X 60 does not have the conventional hot-swappable PCB found on the older wired Logitech G PRO X keyboard. You therefore need to choose the switch type when buying it, and keyboard enthusiasts have less freedom to experiment with replacement switches later.

Independent reviews generally found the PRO X 60 well built, responsive, and particularly strong for wireless gaming. RTINGS’ testing rated its latency performance outstanding and suitable for both casual and competitive play. That is an independent test result for the reviewed unit and methodology, not proof that wireless is universally identical to wired operation.
Reviewers also highlighted the compact design, carrying case, full RGB lighting, useful volume wheel, and broad G HUB customization. TechRadar’s multi-day testing found battery performance broadly consistent with Logitech’s up-to-65-hour claim, while charging from half to full took approximately three hours in that test. The charging observation should not be treated as an official universal charging specification.

The main criticisms are value and ergonomics. The tall profile can become uncomfortable during longer sessions for some users, and there is no wrist rest in the box. Reviewers also noted the lack of case dampening, limited switch choice, no adjustable actuation or rapid-trigger mode, and no built-in multi-device pairing.
Who should buy the PRO X 60?
- Competitive FPS players who want more mouse space without using a wired board.
- Existing 60% keyboard users who are comfortable with Fn combinations and layers.
- Traveling gamers who can make use of the included carrying case.
- Logitech G ecosystem users who want G-SHIFT across a compatible mouse and keyboard.
- Buyers who value software customization more than switch swapping or advanced analog features.
- Anyone who wants a volume control on a very compact keyboard.
Who should skip it?
- Users who need dedicated arrow, function, or navigation keys.
- Spreadsheet-heavy, data-entry, or productivity-first users.
- Keyboard enthusiasts who want a hot-swappable PCB.
- Players seeking Hall-effect switches, adjustable actuation, or rapid trigger.
- Buyers prioritizing quiet typing or built-in sound dampening.
- Anyone who considers $179.99 too much for a 60% keyboard.
- People who need seamless multi-device Bluetooth pairing.
Alternatives worth considering
SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless
This is the closer alternative for buyers who want a wireless 60% board but prioritize Hall-effect switches, adjustable actuation, reset behavior, and multi-device pairing. The PRO X 60 is the simpler choice if LIGHTSPEED and Logitech G HUB integration matter more.
Wooting 60HE
The Wooting 60HE is wired-only, but its Hall-effect switches and adjustable input behavior make it a stronger option for players who want competitive tuning and analog-switch features. Choose the Logitech for wireless portability; choose the Wooting when switch behavior is the priority.
Older Logitech G PRO X
The older G PRO X is a larger wired tenkeyless keyboard with a hot-swappable PCB. It is the better fit for buyers who want a conventional layout and switch flexibility, while the PRO X 60 favors compactness and wireless use.
Budget tenkeyless keyboards
A lower-cost tenkeyless mechanical keyboard such as the Keychron C3 Pro offers more dedicated keys and better general-purpose usability. It is a more sensible direction for value-focused buyers who do not specifically need wireless esports performance.
Verdict
The Logitech G PRO X 60 is a capable compact wireless gaming keyboard with excellent tested latency, solid construction, optical switches, a carrying case, and unusually extensive remapping. KEYCONTROL makes the 60% layout more adaptable, especially for players willing to build layers and profiles.
It is not a universal upgrade, however. The board lacks dedicated keys, hot-swappable switches, Hall-effect features, multi-device pairing, and a wrist rest, while its $179.99 launch price placed it firmly in the premium category. Buy it when compact LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming and Logitech’s software ecosystem are the priorities. Skip it when you want maximum hardware flexibility, productivity convenience, or the most advanced competitive switch technology.
