The Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT was announced on November 18, 2020, and went on sale worldwide on December 3, 2020. Logitech launched it at $149.99 in the US, describing the mouse as weighing less than 63 grams. The original remains a capable lightweight wireless FPS mouse, but in 2026 it is an older model: its value depends on finding a substantial discount versus the newer PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2.
Launch date, availability and original price
Logitech unveiled the G PRO X SUPERLIGHT on November 18, 2020, then announced worldwide availability through Logitechg.com for December 3, 2020. The US launch price was $149.99, with black and white versions offered at launch. Logitech’s Japanese subsidiary used a different schedule: black was listed for December 22, 2020, and white for February 25, 2021.
This is therefore a 2020 product launch, not a new 2026 release. Logitech’s launch announcement is available at Logitech’s newsroom, while the Japanese dates appear in the regional announcement.

What “63g” actually means
Logitech’s announcement said the mouse weighed less than 63 grams. The current product page lists 63g / under 2.22 oz. Those statements describe a 63g-class product, not a promise that every retail unit will weigh exactly 63.0g.

Tom’s Hardware measured a review sample at approximately 60g. Scale accuracy, configuration, cable or receiver placement, grip accessories and regional packaging can all affect a measurement, so the most precise wording is “under 63g” or “63g-class.”
The low weight was notable because Logitech achieved it with a conventional closed shell rather than drilling ventilation holes through the body. At launch, Logitech marketed the mouse as its lightest and fastest PRO model.

See the official product specifications for the manufacturer’s current figures. Older launch material and reviews, including the fact sheet and Tom’s Hardware review, cite acceleration above 40G. Logitech’s current page says above 88G; these should not be silently merged because published specifications or test methods may have changed.

Shape, buttons and ergonomics
The shell follows the familiar G PRO Wireless silhouette. The original PRO Wireless was ambidextrous because it had removable side buttons on both sides; the Superlight removes the right-side buttons and uses a five-button layout, making it effectively right-handed in operation.
- Safe, neutral shape: It suits many claw, fingertip and relaxed-palm grips without imposing a deep thumb or palm contour.
- Closed shell: There are no honeycomb cut-outs, which appeals to users who prefer a solid body.
- Small hands: Lightweight does not guarantee comfort. Check the 125 × 63.5 × 40mm dimensions against your grip before buying.
- Few controls: Five buttons are sensible for competitive FPS play but limiting for MMOs, productivity shortcuts or users who need several side buttons.
Tom’s Hardware and PCWorld both treated the shape as broadly usable rather than strongly ergonomic. If you want a pronounced right-hand contour, an ergonomic alternative such as the PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX is a better starting point.
Wireless, sensor and battery behavior
The Superlight uses Logitech’s proprietary LIGHTSPEED 2.4GHz receiver, not Bluetooth. The box includes the receiver, a charging/data cable and a receiver-extension adapter. It can also operate while connected by cable.

Competitive-gaming reviews found the wireless connection responsive and dependable, but those are hands-on reviewer findings rather than independent laboratory testing by this article. Positioning the receiver close to the mouse with the extension adapter can help in crowded USB or 2.4GHz environments.
Logitech specifies a HERO sensor range of 100–25,600 DPI, zero smoothing, acceleration or filtering, and a 1,000Hz report rate (a nominal 1ms polling interval). A 25,600 DPI ceiling is mainly flexibility and marketing headroom; it does not by itself make aiming more accurate. Shape, grip, pad control, click feel and connection consistency matter more for most players.
Battery life is rated at up to 70 hours of constant motion. Actual runtime varies with use, firmware, configuration and battery age. Charging uses outdated Micro-USB, not USB-C. POWERPLAY can charge the mouse through a compatible Logitech mouse pad, but the pad is an additional purchase.

Setup and troubleshooting
- Plug the LIGHTSPEED receiver into the computer. Use the included extension adapter if the receiver is blocked or distant.
- Connect the mouse with its cable to charge it and, if needed, use it as a wired mouse.
- Install Logitech G HUB when you need DPI, report-rate, button assignments or onboard-memory profiles. Logitech lists Windows 8 or later, macOS 10.11 or later, and internet access for optional software download.
- Configure the settings and keep G HUB and mouse firmware current.
- Test the receiver near the mouse if you notice interference or intermittent performance.
If the mouse does not move
Check that the receiver is connected and the mouse is switched on. Try the cable connection, another USB port, and receiver re-pairing through G HUB where supported.
If G HUB does not detect it
Connect the mouse by cable, restart G HUB, try another USB port and use Logitech’s support/download pages. A Micro-USB cable may provide power without carrying data, so test a known-good data cable.
If battery life is unusually short
Check whether the mouse is being left on, inspect battery reporting in G HUB, update firmware and account for battery aging in an older unit.

What you gain—and give up—in 2026
- Reasons to consider it: very low weight without perforations, a familiar shape, LIGHTSPEED wireless, a strong battery rating, HERO tracking, POWERPLAY support and potentially good sale pricing.
- Reasons to pass: it launched in 2020; charging is Micro-USB; there is no Bluetooth; it has only five buttons; polling is limited to 1,000Hz; 63g is no longer exceptional; and newer models may cost only a little more.
Price and alternatives
In an August 2026 snapshot, Logitech’s US catalog indexed the original at $109.99, marked down from $149.99. The same catalog indexed the PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 at $129.99, marked down from $179.99. These are promotional price signals, not permanent guarantees; check the live Logitech US catalog before purchase.

Who should buy the original?
Buy it when the discount is substantial versus the current Superlight 2, you like the original neutral shape, and Micro-USB, Bluetooth absence and 1,000Hz polling are acceptable. It is especially sensible for FPS players who want a light, solid-shell wireless mouse or already own POWERPLAY equipment.

Skip it when the price is close to the newer model, you require USB-C or Bluetooth, need more programmable buttons, have very small hands, or want a strongly ergonomic shell. A practical rule is simple: choose the original for a clear bargain, pay for the Superlight 2 when the gap is small, and choose the Viper V3 Pro when lower weight outweighs Logitech ecosystem compatibility.
