What is Lunchbreak Tactics?
Lunchbreak Tactics is a digital strategy card autobattler by Borealys Games, set in the fictional Anymart supermarket. You build a team from units and items, then watch it compete in asynchronous battles. The studio describes asynchronous play as letting players progress at their own pace; it also says the game draws inspiration from Super Auto Pets and Hearthstone Battlegrounds. Those are the developer’s stated inspirations, not claims that the games share a publisher or are identical in format.
Google Play pitches it as “A strategic card autobattler with async PvP and wild supermarket synergies.” That is the store’s description of the game, rather than an independent assessment. View the Android listing on Google Play.
How a run works
- Choose a hero. Each run starts with a hero whose passive ability shapes your approach.
- Pick two clans. Your selections determine the cards available to build around, so clan combinations influence which units and synergies you can pursue.
- Build your team in the shop. Spend gold to buy and upgrade units, freeze potential purchases for later, and equip items.
- Send the lineup into battles. Your assembled team fights through rounds, with the outcome depending on the units, upgrades, items and synergies you put together.
The official descriptions disagree about the number of rounds in a run: Google Play currently says twelve, while the studio product page says thirteen. Since neither source resolves the discrepancy, this article does not give a definitive round count. The Play listing also highlights ranked play and a daily King of the Hill mode.

What is free on Android, and what does the full game cost?
Borealys Games’ September 25, 2026 announcement described a limited free mobile version with two heroes to unlock and two clans to play. The post announced a $5.99 USD purchase to unlock the full mobile game and cautioned that regional prices may vary. That is the announced price, not a verified current Google Play price; check the live listing in your region for the amount currently charged.
The studio’s product page lists “12+” playable heroes, six clans, 24 units and eight items per clan, and “100+” starting compositions. These are publisher-provided counts from an undated page and may not reflect a later update. The same page’s “6500+” cups of coffee is a playful studio claim, not a gameplay statistic. Does owning the Steam version unlock Android?
According to the developer’s September 25 announcement, yes: an existing Steam owner can link the Steam and mobile accounts to unlock the full Android version at no additional cost. The developer says account linking also shares progression, ranking, statistics and other account data between platforms.
The announcement gives two routes to link: use General Settings in the PC game, or the account-linking button on the Android app’s main menu. The Steam listing and its linked official announcements are available at Lunchbreak Tactics on Steam. As with any feature description, check the game’s current instructions if a later update changes the linking flow.

The free tier offers a way to sample the hero-and-clan team-building loop before paying. If you already own the Steam game, the developer’s account-linking feature is the key distinction: its announcement says you can access the full Android version without a second purchase and continue with shared account data. For everyone else, confirm the current regional Google Play price before deciding whether to unlock the full game.
