Marvel Comics Powered by WEBTOON is the announced successor to Marvel Unlimited, with a planned launch on November 16, 2026. It is expected to offer a digital library advertised at more than 35,000 comics, two subscription tiers with different waits for new issues, and tools for discovering and following series. What is replacing Marvel Unlimited?
Marvel and WEBTOON are developing a new mobile and web service called Marvel Comics Powered by WEBTOON. It is intended to replace Marvel Unlimited, but the announcement does not establish when the existing service will shut down or how current subscriptions will be handled. WEBTOON’s October 5, 2026 announcement and the official service page and FAQ describe the new app as a separate service.

The new service advertises a library of more than 35,000 digital comics, including archived comics and current runs. That is Marvel and WEBTOON’s stated catalog size, not an independently audited count or a guarantee that every title readers expect will be available at launch. The companies describe content from Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios, with the possibility of further stories from Disney’s portfolio.
The planned library supports traditional page-based comics as well as vertical-scroll formats. The existing Marvel Unlimited landing page advertises more than 30,000 comics; the two catalog figures are publisher claims and should not be read as a like-for-like audited comparison. Marvel Unlimited’s current landing page also lists its existing service prices.

When does the new Marvel Comics app launch?
The announced launch date is November 16, 2026. Marvel and WEBTOON also say they plan to preview the app at New York Comic Con, October 8–11, 2026, with a beta preview at booth #2435. These are scheduled plans; the replacement had not launched as of October 7, 2026.
How much will the Marvel Comics app cost?
Both announced plans include the full digital library. Their main practical difference is how soon new issues become available after print: as soon as three months for Base, or one month for Ultimate. Prices are in US dollars and are plus tax.

The annual Base plan is $49.88 less than paying its monthly price for 12 months; Ultimate Annual is $50.01 less than 12 monthly payments, before tax. Those calculations use the announced prices and assume a full year at the listed monthly rate. Whether the one-month wait is worth Ultimate’s higher price depends on how much a reader values earlier digital access.
Founders Offer: discounted first year of Ultimate
A limited pre-launch offer is announced for Ultimate Annual at $59.99 plus tax for the first year, described by Marvel and WEBTOON as a 40% saving. The offer is a separate advance purchase: the order is charged before launch, then a code is emailed for redemption after launch. The code expires March 31, 2027 ET. After that first year, the subscription auto-renews at $99.99 plus tax per year until canceled. Check that the offer remains available and review its terms before buying. How it compares with current Marvel Unlimited pricing
Marvel’s current landing page lists Marvel Unlimited at $9.99 monthly, $69 annually, and $99 annually for Annual Plus, in US dollars plus applicable tax. The new Base plan is listed at $9.99 monthly or $69.99 annually, plus tax. These prices do not by themselves establish that existing plans, benefits, or billing will carry over. Marvel’s current Marvel Unlimited page is the source for the existing service’s listed prices.
What features are planned for the new app?
Marvel and WEBTOON describe a cover-scroll browsing interface, personalized recommendations based on reading history and interests, and pages for characters and creators. A Pull List is intended to surface new issues from followed series, characters, and creators when those issues become available. Readers are also expected to be able to preview upcoming releases and add titles to their Pull List in advance.
For reading, the companies describe a smart panel mode that zooms in on individual panels for mobile screens. The service page also says custom lists and multiple profiles are planned for after launch, so they should not be assumed to be available on launch day. These are publisher-described features, not independent findings about how well they work.

Bookmarks and lists will not transfer. If those contain references you want to keep, preserve them before moving away from the old app. Marvel’s reviewed FAQ does not describe a special export process.
What happens to my Marvel Unlimited subscription?
The official FAQ says Marvel will contact current subscribers in the coming weeks with information about their subscriptions and next steps. The reviewed page does not state a Marvel Unlimited sunset date, automatic migration, or refund arrangement. Do not assume that an existing paid plan will convert, be extended, or be refunded; wait for account-specific instructions and check your renewal settings. What is not yet specified?
As of October 7, 2026, the official material reviewed does not specify the new app’s country-by-country availability, supported operating-system versions, minimum device requirements, offline downloads, or detailed accessibility support. The requirements for the existing app should not be treated as requirements for its replacement. The exact catalog and the transition arrangements for existing subscribers are likewise not fully established in the reviewed material.
