Mewgenics Bosses and Locations: A Spoiler-Aware Guide to Minibosses, Endings, House Fights, and Secrets

Bosses in Mewgenics are not all the same kind of encounter: some appear midway through a zone, others end a zone or an act branch, and house and secret-area fights sit outside the ordinary route. This guide maps the named encounters supported by the reviewed guides, but it is a selective index—not a verified complete roster. The available guide coverage is strongest for Act 1 and only early Act 2 encounters.

How to read the boss map

GameSpot distinguishes a miniboss, which appears midway through a zone, from an end-of-zone boss and an end-of-act boss, which closes an act branch. House fights and secret-zone fights belong in separate categories rather than in a simple area-by-area progression list. These labels describe encounter roles; they do not by themselves establish whether a fight is optional or required to advance. GameSpot’s boss guide explains the categories.

The table below gathers the named encounters in the reviewed location guide. It is deliberately not exhaustive: that guide says it focuses on frequent or likely encounters rather than every miniboss. Treat its route and mechanic descriptions as guide claims, not as a definitive in-game index. Nerd’s Chalk’s guide was updated February 11, 2026.

Which bosses appear in each area?

Area Act or role Named encounters in the reviewed guide What to know
Alley Act 1 opening region Fenrir and Lucy (miniboss examples); Radical Rat or Queen Hippo (headline/end-zone options) The guide presents Radical Rat and Queen Hippo as alternatives, not as two bosses that both necessarily appear in one run. Its account is selective. Nerd’s Chalk
Sewers Act 1 Rat King and Flushmaster (mid-zone examples); Boris (endpoint) Terrain hazards and additional enemies are important themes in the guide’s encounter descriptions. Nerd’s Chalk
Caves Act 1 branch Big Slime; Baby Spider sequence leading to Spinnerette The guide describes the Spinnerette encounter as a sequence. Check the current encounter in-game rather than assuming every sequence detail is fixed. Nerd’s Chalk
Boneyard Alternate Act 1 branch Dybbuk The target guide places Dybbuk at the branch endpoint; a separate directory describes its evasive and possession mechanics. Nerd’s Chalk; Mewgenius
Desert Act 2 Zodiac and other themed encounters The reviewed guide covers only an early portion of Act 2; it does not establish a complete Desert roster. Nerd’s Chalk

What do the selected fights do?

The mechanics below are useful to recognize, but they are summaries from third-party guides rather than independently verified or exhaustive combat documentation. The guides do not establish that every detail remains identical in every current run or game version.

  • Fenrir (Alley): Nerd’s Chalk describes a fast opponent that uses bear traps and deflects melee attacks; its guide recommends ranged attackers and clearing traps. Read the encounter guide.
  • Radical Rat (Alley): The same guide describes delayed bombs that explode in a cross pattern and a short defensive stance beneath a bucket. Its suggested response is to destroy bombs and avoid clustering units. Read the encounter guide.
  • Rat King and Flushmaster (Sewers): The guide emphasizes managing Rat King’s adds and paying attention to hazards when Flushmaster pushes units around the board. Read the encounter guide.
  • Big Slime and Spinnerette (Caves): Nerd’s Chalk describes Big Slime splitting into smaller slimes, while Spinnerette uses webs and spiderlings and has a later phase. Plan around the board those mechanics create; the source’s sequence details should be treated as guide descriptions, not a guaranteed script. Read the encounter guide.
  • Dybbuk (Boneyard): Nerd’s Chalk says Dybbuk dodges single-target attacks, summons Wisps, and enters a possession phase. Mewgenius also notes backflips and mana drain. Nerd’s Chalk; Mewgenius.

Where do house and secret fights fit?

House encounters

Guillotina and later house-boss encounters are listed separately from zone endpoints in the reviewed guide. That distinction matters when using an area map: a house fight is not another boss at the end of Alley, Sewers, or a branch. The guide describes escalating Guillotina fights, but the evidence reviewed here does not establish their exact timing or rewards, so those details are not specified. Nerd’s Chalk

Secret areas

A third-party strategy page identifies Throbbing King as the final boss of a secret area called Throbbing Domain. That supports the location association, but not a reliable unlock route; no step-by-step access instructions are included here. Mewgenics.org’s Throbbing King page

Why do published boss counts differ?

Online indexes count pages, not necessarily confirmed playable encounters. The Mewgenics Wiki’s boss index reports 91 entries, but includes debug or uncertain records; Mewgenius lists 40 boss pages. Neither figure should be read as the game’s verified boss total. The wiki location index reports 18 location entries and names The Alley, Boneyard, Bunker, Caves, Core, Crater, Desert, End, Future, Ice Age, Infinite, Junkyard, Jurassic, Lab, Moon, Rift, and Sewers. That is the index’s page count, not an official statistic or proof that every location has a documented boss. Boss index; Mewgenius boss directory; Location index
