What is MindsEye?
MindsEye is a single-player action-adventure campaign set in a near-future world. Its protagonist, Jacob Diaz, is a former soldier with a neural implant and fragmented memories. As he investigates what happened to him, the story brings together rogue AI, corporate power, and military force. PlayStation lists the PS5 release date as June 10, 2025; GamesRadar+ lists the game for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation’s official listing has PS5-specific product details.

The game also has ARCADIA, a platform for player-created content. That makes the experience broader than a campaign alone, though the value of that creator ecosystem depends on whether you want to play or make community content.
What did the review think of the campaign?
GamesRadar+’s review, published June 13, 2025, characterizes the campaign as roughly ten hours long. That is the reviewer’s estimate, not a measured completion-time guarantee. The reviewer found the stripped-back scope initially refreshing, but judged the story and characters weak, the mechanics limited, and the driving between missions tedious. For a buying decision, the central trade-off is therefore straightforward: the campaign offers a contained cinematic premise, while the cited review raises concerns about its narrative payoff and moment-to-moment variety. If you mainly want a strong story or deep action systems, those criticisms matter more than the initial appeal of the setting. If you are interested in the broader creator and multiplayer ecosystem, assess that separately from the campaign review.
How did the game change after launch?
Update 8: multiplayer and cross-play
The official Update 8 notes, dated July 22, 2026, describe multiplayer, the Grenade Football mode, full cross-play across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and player-created ARCADIA content reaching consoles. The notes also say multiplayer features were not included in the Epic Games Store build at that time. That limitation is specific to the cited July 2026 update and storefront; it should not be treated as a guarantee of the build’s status on a later date.

Publishing and announced content
IOI Partners and Build A Rocket Boy said their publishing collaboration ended effective March 16, 2026, with Build A Rocket Boy taking sole publishing responsibilities. They also said the planned Hitman crossover mission would not be released. The publisher’s news page carries the announcement.
In an April 15, 2026 update, Build A Rocket Boy described planned content including Blacklisted, multiplayer races, a console Race Builder, and regular updates. Those were plans announced at that date, not a promise that every item would ship on a particular schedule. The same official news page contains the announcement.

Which version or platform should you consider?
Choose based on what you want to play and where you plan to buy it. Update 8’s cross-play description covers PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but the July 2026 notes explicitly excluded multiplayer features from the Epic Games Store build at that time. If multiplayer is the deciding factor, verify the current feature availability for your exact platform and PC storefront before purchasing.
For PS5, Sony lists support for DualSense vibration and trigger effects. A DualSense controller is optional, not a stated requirement. The official PS5 listing also advertises a two-hour PlayStation Plus Premium trial; check the live listing for eligibility and subscription terms.

Should you buy MindsEye?
MindsEye is easiest to recommend to players drawn to its sci-fi conspiracy premise or to the expanded ARCADIA and multiplayer offering. The available professional review gives reason for caution if you expect a consistently engaging story, varied mechanics, or satisfying travel between missions. Because multiplayer availability can depend on platform and storefront, check the current listing for the version you intend to play rather than relying on the July 2026 Epic Games Store note as a present-day status report.
