What happened to the sequel claim?
In March 2025, Windows Central reported on a leak alleging that a project code-named Project Spicewood was a sequel to Minecraft Dungeons. At the time, Mojang had not confirmed a sequel, and the report cautioned that leaked files can describe experiments that never ship. Those details remain historical rumor context, not verified facts about the released game. Mojang later confirmed Minecraft Dungeons II independently and announced its launch. Mojang describes Minecraft Dungeons II as the sequel to Minecraft Dungeons and an action-RPG adventure set in the Minecraft universe. Can you play co-op?

What comes with the Deluxe Edition?

What became of the original game?
In a September 28, 2023 post, Mojang Studios reported that the original Minecraft Dungeons had reached 25 million unique players. The same post said version 1.17 was the game’s final update and that no further features or content updates were planned for it.
