The Minisforum AtomMan G1 Pro squeezes a 16-core Ryzen 9 8945HX and a low-profile desktop-class GeForce RTX 5060 into a roughly 3.8-liter chassis. That makes it an unusually compact, ready-to-use gaming PC with strong 1080p and 1440p potential. The trade-offs are equally important: independent reviewers report noticeable fan noise under load, the RTX 5060 has 8GB of VRAM, and the compact system costs more than many buyers need to spend for a conventional desktop.
Short verdict: Consider it if you value a tiny footprint and want a discrete desktop GPU without building an ITX system. Look elsewhere if quiet operation, maximum performance per dollar, or a standard GPU upgrade path matters more.
What the AtomMan G1 Pro is—and what “desktop RTX 5060” means
The G1 Pro is not an integrated-graphics mini PC. It pairs AMD’s Ryzen 9 8945HX processor with a discrete, low-profile GeForce RTX 5060, housed alongside an internal 350W power supply. Minisforum lists the GPU at 145W and describes the system as using a desktop-class card; independent coverage identifies it as a low-profile Gigabyte RTX 5060 OC 8G rather than an RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. The distinction matters when comparing it with gaming laptops, but it does not mean the card performs identically to every full-size desktop RTX 5060. Cooling, power limits, clock behavior, and the enclosure all affect sustained performance.
Think of the G1 Pro as a compact hybrid: more upgradeable and flexible than a console, less portable than a gaming laptop, and much smaller—but less expandable—than a typical desktop. Minisforum unveiled it on November 26, 2025. Minisforum’s announcement and official specifications describe its core design.

Minisforum also specifies up to 100W CPU operation, 245W combined CPU/GPU operating power, and cooling capacity of up to 300W. Treat the latter figures as manufacturer ratings, not guarantees that every workload will sustain those levels quietly. Independent specifications and testing are available from PC Gamer and Tom’s Guide.
Gaming performance: strongest at 1080p and 1440p
Independent testing supports the G1 Pro’s central pitch: substantial gaming performance for its size. In Tom’s Guide’s test suite, it recorded 45.21 frames per second in Cyberpunk 2077 and 90.66 fps in Red Dead Redemption 2 at 1080p without DLSS. It also scored 51.45 fps in Metro Exodus at 1080p. Those are specific results from that review’s test conditions, not a promise for every game or settings combination.
- 1080p: The most dependable target for demanding games. High settings are often realistic, though the heaviest titles may need settings adjustments.
- 1440p: A sensible sweet spot, particularly when DLSS Super Resolution is available. Native ultra settings will vary by game.
- 4K: Possible in lighter or older games, but expect to lower settings or use upscaling in demanding modern releases.
- Ray tracing: DLSS can help, but this is still a midrange GPU with 8GB of VRAM. Ultra ray tracing and high-resolution texture settings can exceed what is comfortable in some games.
- Competitive games: The hardware should suit high-refresh play in many titles, but actual frame rates depend on the game, settings, memory configuration, and cooling mode.
Keep the rendering method in mind when comparing results: native rendering, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLSS Frame Generation are not interchangeable. Frame Generation can make motion appear smoother, but it does not provide the same input response as an equivalent native frame rate. Minisforum’s marketing claims—including that the GPU is 25% faster than an RTX 4060—should not be treated as independent benchmark conclusions.

CPU and creator workloads
The Ryzen 9 8945HX is a powerful 16-core, 32-thread mobile-class processor, with a listed maximum boost of 5.4GHz. That core count is attractive for multitasking, editing, and rendering, but a compact chassis and power budget distinguish it from a desktop workstation with a larger cooling system. Minisforum’s claim of a 10% multi-core advantage over unnamed competitors is its own laboratory claim, not a broadly established comparison.
Tom’s Guide measured 2,806 in Geekbench 6.5 single-core and 11,612 in multi-core, plus a 3:12 time for its 4K-to-1080p HandBrake conversion. Its multi-core result trailed some comparison systems, while the HandBrake result was competitive. PC Gamer likewise found the machine capable but not a class leader in sustained CPU-heavy creator tests. NVIDIA’s GPU and CUDA support can be useful for compatible creator tools, but the 8GB VRAM ceiling may constrain large 3D scenes, high-resolution assets, and some local AI workloads.
Memory configuration can also affect performance. Tom’s Guide reported that its review unit came with one 32GB module, which runs in single-channel mode. Confirm whether the exact retail configuration you are considering has one or two modules; a compatible second module can enable dual-channel operation. Do not assume every G1 Pro configuration ships with the same memory layout.

There is another M.2 2280 PCIe4.0 slot available for expanding the storage. Without worrying about lack of capacity, you can run software smoothly, watch and storage large-scale movies, photos without any stress.
Noise, cooling, and long sessions
Small size comes with a thermal and acoustic compromise. Tom’s Guide found the G1 Pro could become loud during demanding gaming, and TechRadar cautioned that the design has limited thermal headroom, making long workloads more revealing than short benchmark runs. Minisforum’s “Glacier” cooling and 300W dissipation figure describe the manufacturer’s design claims; they do not negate independent reports of fan noise.
For better day-to-day results, keep intake and exhaust areas clear, avoid placing the PC in a closed TV cabinet, and use the supplied stand as intended unless you have confirmed airflow in another orientation. Expect more fan noise in Gaming or Beast modes; Office mode is a better fit for lighter tasks. Dust the vents regularly, especially in a high-airflow setup. If you plan to render, stream, or play for hours at a time, assess sustained temperatures and noise rather than relying on a short benchmark.
Memory, SSDs, and the limits of upgrades
The system has two DDR5 memory slots and two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots. A 1TB model can therefore leave a second M.2 slot available for a game library or project drive. Minisforum lists up to 96GB of RAM and up to 4TB per storage slot; confirm the supported capacity, drive dimensions, and configuration for the particular regional model before buying parts.

An additional M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slot is also available for further storage expansion. Run software smoothly, and store large-scale movies and photos without worrying about capacity limits.
Opening the chassis is more involved than sliding a side panel off a standard tower. Tom’s Guide reports that access requires removing the stand and base screws, sliding off the vented panel, disconnecting the PSU’s main connector, and removing the CPU fan to reach memory and storage. The review also noted an included SSD heatsink. Before upgrading:
- Check whether your SSD is single- or double-sided and whether it fits the available clearance.
- For a memory upgrade, match DDR5 SODIMM type, speed, and capacity as closely as practical; verify the installed module layout first.
- Back up important files before replacing the boot drive, and plan to clone or reinstall Windows.
- Work carefully around the compact cooling assembly and check the current regional warranty terms before opening the unit.
The graphics card may be physically replaceable, but that is not a dependable promise of future GPU upgrades. A replacement would need to fit the low-profile space and connector layout, stay within the PSU and thermal limits, and work with the firmware and drivers. The 350W internal PSU gives less headroom than a conventional desktop supply.

The system also includes front and rear USB-A/USB-C ports, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and 5GbE. Check the official port map if a particular monitor or peripheral connection is essential.
Price and value: check the exact configuration
There is no single reliable price to quote without checking the live regional store and configuration. In the U.S. official-store information captured on August 18, 2026, one page showed a 32GB/1TB configuration at $1,439, discounted from $1,799. Another official product page showed $1,039.90 with “Notify Me.” These are conflicting price and availability signals, not proof that either offer is currently purchasable. Check the official store listing for the exact configuration, stock status, region, and checkout total before making a decision.
The value proposition is primarily compactness and convenience, not the lowest cost per frame. PC Gamer estimated that a DIY build with broadly comparable headline components could approach the G1 Pro’s price, though it would be larger, require assembly, and still need a Windows license. A conventional desktop can also offer more standard components and cooling options. Compare the complete systems you can actually buy, not just the GPU name or a promotional price.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteHow it compares with other ways to play
- Compared with a conventional or ITX desktop: The G1 Pro takes far less space and comes assembled with an internal PSU. A desktop gives you more component choice, a more conventional GPU upgrade route, and more scope to prioritize quieter cooling.
- Compared with a gaming laptop: The G1 Pro is a stationary PC: it needs a monitor, keyboard, and other peripherals, and has no built-in battery or screen. Its desktop-class GPU is a different proposition from a laptop GPU, but a laptop is the more complete portable system.
- Compared with a console: A console remains simpler to set up and use with a controller in the living room. The G1 Pro runs Windows and PC software and offers more upgrade options, but also brings driver and operating-system maintenance, and the cost of peripherals if you do not already own them.
- Compared with an integrated-graphics mini PC: The G1 Pro is in another performance class for modern gaming and GPU-accelerated work, but it is larger, hotter, louder under load, and more expensive.
Who should buy the AtomMan G1 Pro?
It makes sense for: gamers with limited desk space who want a discrete GPU; living-room users who want a Windows gaming and productivity PC; and creators who can use NVIDIA acceleration and value a compact system more than sustained workstation-class throughput. It is particularly appealing if 1080p or 1440p gaming is the goal and you accept fan noise under load.
Think twice if: you need quiet gaming, the best performance per dollar, a standard full-size GPU upgrade path, extensive I/O, or more than 8GB of VRAM. Buyers with sustained CPU-heavy workloads should also compare larger systems with more thermal headroom. If you can accommodate a larger case and are comfortable building or selecting components, an ITX or conventional desktop is the better route to flexibility.
