San Diego Studio announced March 18, 2025, as the launch date for MLB The Show 25. The Digital Deluxe Edition offered early access beginning March 14, four days before the standard launch. The official announcement set both dates.

What platforms is MLB The Show 25 on?
The game launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The announcement did not list PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions.
Cross-platform progression is supported under specific conditions: you need an internet connection, a copy of the game compatible with each platform you use, and linked platform network accounts through an MLB The Show account. Buying one platform’s version does not include the game on another. San Diego Studio’s launch feature explains those requirements.

When did MLB The Show 25 preorders open?
Preorders for Standard and Digital Deluxe editions were scheduled to open February 4, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. PST through the official website, platform stores, and participating retailers. That preorder opening is a past event; the announcement does not establish present-day prices, stock, or purchase options.
Who are the MLB The Show 25 cover athletes?
The cover athletes are Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz, Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson, and Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes. The January 2025 reveal described the 20th-anniversary cover as the first in the series to feature multiple athletes on one cover.

Did MLB The Show 25 join a subscription service?
The PlayStation Blog said the game would not be on platform subscription services in 2025. That was a statement about the 2025 plan only; it does not confirm whether the game is included in any service after that year.
What should you check before buying now?
Because the launch and preorder period are over, check the live listing for your platform and retailer before purchasing. Confirm the platform, edition, physical or digital format, price, condition, and stock. For a used or remaining physical copy, do not assume it includes the original Topps card promotion. The US PlayStation Store says online play is optional, but online gameplay requires an internet connection and paid PlayStation Plus membership; in-game purchases are optional.
