Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteIf you want an MMORPG character creator that can change body proportions—not just hair, face, or a preset body type—Black Desert is the clearest documented example here. Pearl Abyss describes controls reaching from height and torso to skin texture and fine details. World of Warcraft and FINAL FANTASY XIV also document appearance customization, but the official sources cited below do not establish comparable flexible proportion controls for those games.
What counts as flexible body customization?
“Body type” and “body sliders” are not interchangeable. A creator may offer two or more preset body types without letting you adjust height, build, or proportions. If you want a character to feel individually shaped, look for explicit controls for height or body size, then check whether those controls apply to the race or character option you intend to use.
Appearance customization is a separate, broader category: face, skin color, hair, markings, and similar selections can offer substantial variety without changing body proportions. The examples below are verified cases, not a complete ranking of every current MMORPG; options may differ by character choice or change with updates.
MMORPGs with documented appearance customization
| Game | What the cited official source establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Black Desert | Pearl Abyss describes adjustment of height, torso, face, skin texture, and fine details. Its customization guide also identifies height and body-size controls, alongside hair and face options. | The cited regional guide does not establish current appearance-change terms for every market. |
| World of Warcraft | Blizzard lists extensive appearance selections for the Skyborne, including faces, skin colors, and hairstyles for each of two body types. | The listed choices are not evidence of sliders for height or body proportions. |
| FINAL FANTASY XIV | Square Enix’s manual says character creation includes choosing a race, clan, and gender, then customizing appearance. | The cited manual page does not detail body-shape sliders or establish flexible body proportions. |
Black Desert: the strongest documented fit for body sliders
Pearl Abyss identifies Black Desert as an MMORPG and describes customization that spans body and surface details. Its feature page says, “From height, torso, face, skin texture, to micro-level details, you can break out of the norm!” That is the publisher’s description; the practical distinction is that the official guide also specifically names height and body size among the adjustable controls.

The Adventurer’s Guide to Customization says an Appearance Coupon is needed to change a character’s appearance again after creation. This is guidance from Pearl Abyss’s Asia site, so check the rules in your own region before relying on that requirement.
World of Warcraft: broad options, but not proof of proportion sliders
Blizzard’s Skyborne feature article documents selectable appearance options for that race. It lists ten face options and nine skin-color options for each body type, plus twenty-one hairstyles for Body Type 1 and twenty-five for Body Type 2. Those figures describe Skyborne selections in Blizzard’s article, not the number of body shapes or adjustable proportions available across World of Warcraft.

If hairstyle, face, and skin choices are your priority, the article provides concrete evidence of variety for this race. If your main requirement is a height or build slider, the cited article does not answer that question; verify the current in-game creator for the specific character you plan to make.

Square Enix’s character-creation manual confirms that players select a race, clan, and gender and then customize appearance. The page does not enumerate body-shape controls, so it supports the claim that appearance customization exists, but not that body proportions are freely adjustable.

How to choose the right creator
- Decide whether you need sliders or presets. Look specifically for controls labeled height, body size, or proportions if those matter more than selecting among preset types.
- Compare the same character options. Races and other character selections can affect which choices are available; don’t assume one race’s options describe an entire game.
- Separate body control from visual variety. Count faces, hairstyles, and skin choices as appearance options, not as evidence of adjustable body shape.
- Check what happens after creation. Some games may require a separate item or process to revise appearance. For Black Desert, the cited Asia guide names an Appearance Coupon; confirm regional terms.
- Confirm current options in game. Character creators can change with updates, and an official article’s list may cover only a particular race or version.
