The listed source is an Otherworldly Treasure reward from a Fel Scar in any of three zones:
- Feralas
- Azshara
- The Blasted Lands
Players have linked this route to the Warlock Explorer Imp mechanic. A post on the Blizzard forum claims that Warlocks can obtain it through the Imp while Mages cannot get it by closing portals. That is a player statement, not an official eligibility rule, so treat the class-specific detail as unverified.

Is Modas Karkun worth the farm?
Its appeal depends on what you need from a weapon. The Fire damage bonus is its offensive draw, while the Stamina and Armor offer defensive value. That combination explains why players discussed it as a possible Warlock tanking weapon, but the discussion does not establish an official role or a current best-in-slot ranking.
Whether the farm makes sense also depends on how long you expect to use phase-appropriate gear. A May 2024 player reported getting the dagger after around 250 portals and knowing players who took more than 600. Those accounts illustrate how long the grind may feel, but they are individual anecdotes: they do not establish a drop probability, average number of attempts, or expected farming time. No authoritative drop-rate figure is established in the available sources.

In another May 2024 discussion, players argued that Sunken Temple loot changes and Hubris had made the dagger less compelling for some Warlock builds, while noting its defensive stats as a possible reason to choose it. That is historical player opinion, not a current gear evaluation. Compare the item against the gear available to your character and build rather than relying on that dated discussion as a ranking.
