Monster Hunter Rise Reportedly Tops 20 Million Sales, but Capcom’s Table Says 19.3 Million

Monster Hunter Rise has reportedly passed 20 million sales, according to an October 2026 report from Nintendo Life. Capcom’s Platinum Titles table, however, lists the base game at 19.30 million units as of June 30, 2026. The milestone is therefore reported, but the two figures do not currently match.

How many copies of Monster Hunter Rise has Capcom listed?

Capcom’s Platinum Titles table lists Monster Hunter Rise at 19.30 million units, with figures current as of June 30, 2026. That is the official table figure available here; it does not itself show the game above 20 million.

Why is the 20-million milestone being reported?

Nintendo Life reported in October 2026 that Monster Hunter Rise had passed 20 million sales, attributing the milestone to official sales data. That later report conflicts with the June 30 Capcom table figure. Until Capcom’s table is updated or another official record clarifies the difference, the careful wording is that Rise has reportedly topped 20 million—not that the retrieved Capcom table confirms it.

Which games and platforms do the figures cover?

Monster Hunter Rise

Capcom’s table identifies the base game separately and lists Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and digital among its platforms. The broad platform footprint provides context for the milestone, but the sales figures do not identify which platform contributed how much.

#1 Best Overall
Monster Hunter Rise - Nintendo Switch Standard Edition
  • The debut of the new “wirebug” mechanic allows for wire-based grappling actions that can be used to scale cliffs and other hard-to-reach areas, providing new traversal and aerial attack options.
  • The game will introduce magnamalo, a menacing new flagship monster, as well as other new monsters like the shape-shifting aknosom, the amphibious tetranadon, and more.
  • New hunting partners called palamutes can be personalized and used to ride across the terrain, providing players with all-new traveling and attack options.
  • In addition to the plethora of solo and multiplayer quests, the immersive story mode will task aspiring hunters with discovering the secrets behind the puzzling “rampage” events that threaten kamura village.
  • Play solo, or join up to three other hunters in local or online co-op play. The Nintendo Switch system also allows for hunting anywhere, anytime and with anyone!

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Sunbreak is a premium expansion, not part of the base-game figure. Capcom’s June 2025 announcement said the expansion had exceeded 10 million cumulative global units; its Platinum Titles table separately lists it at 11.90 million as of June 30, 2026. Capcom’s separate entries mean those numbers should not be described as Rise base-game sales or silently combined into one total. The expansion launched June 30, 2022, and is available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC, according to Capcom’s June 4, 2025 announcement.

The Monster Hunter series

Capcom said the Monster Hunter series surpassed 100 million cumulative units as of March 31, 2024, in a May 2024 anniversary announcement. That is a franchise-wide total with a different scope and date, not a current sales figure for Rise.

What the numbers establish

  • Capcom’s table lists Monster Hunter Rise at 19.30 million units as of June 30, 2026.
  • A later Nintendo Life report says the game passed 20 million in October 2026 and attributes the claim to official data, but the figure does not match the Capcom table retrieved here.
  • Sunbreak and the overall Monster Hunter series have their own separate sales totals; neither should be mistaken for the base game’s total.
