Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Pause a Quest

To pause a quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, open the Start Menu, choose System, then select Pause Game. This works in solo play, including Online Single Player when you are not in a multiplayer session. It does not pause a shared multiplayer hunt.

How to pause a quest

1. While playing solo, open the Start Menu using the control configured for your platform.
2. Choose System.
3. Select Pause Game.
4. To continue, use the resume command shown on screen.

Selecting Pause Game is the documented pause action; simply opening a menu is not established as pausing the hunt.

Controls and limitations

The exact button used to open the Start Menu and the on-screen resume prompt can vary by platform or configuration, so follow the controls shown in your game rather than relying on a platform-specific button label. Available guidance does not establish every exception during cutscenes or other overlays.
