When could you preload Monster Hunter Wilds?
The preload dates are historical. Capcom announced a February 28, 2025 launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC; Steam presents the PC release date as February 27, 2025. A Steam Community post dated February 24, 2025 reported that Xbox Series X|S and Steam preload would begin February 25 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time globally, and that PS5 preload would begin 48 hours before launch in each region. How much storage does the full game need?
PC: 75 GB available, with an SSD required
Steam lists 75 GB of available storage for both the minimum and recommended PC specifications and states that an SSD is required. Treat 75 GB as the listed PC system requirement—not as the exact compressed download size, a guaranteed current installed footprint after updates, or a console storage figure. Steam also lists 16 GB of RAM and DirectX 12. Its minimum target is 1080p upscaled from 720p at 30 fps on the Lowest setting; the recommended target is 1080p at 60 fps with Frame Generation on Medium. The available sources do not establish a current full-game storage figure for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. The PC requirement, demo storage, and update-space notices below measure different things and should not be substituted for a console install size.
What do the 2026 update and demo figures mean?
Steam’s news archive gives approximately 3.5 GB of update space for the August 4, 2026 update, or approximately 5.5 GB total with the High Resolution Texture Pack. The notice advises allowing extra room for small differences in final size. These are figures for that update—not the full game’s download or installed size.
