What did Title Update 1 add?
| Addition | What it offers | Unlock or timing |
|---|---|---|
| Mizutsune | A new monster hunt, with a Tempered version available later in progression. | Start Kanya’s extra mission at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp at HR 21 or above. Tempered Mizutsune appears at HR 41 or above after completing that mission. |
| High Rank Zoh Shia | A repeatable High Rank hunt after the monster’s original story encounter; its materials can be used for new High Rank hunter and Palico equipment. | Reach HR 50 to unlock the story mission. |
| Grand Hub | A new social and gathering space in Suja, Peaks of Accord, featuring the Diva, a canteen, Barrel Bowling, and squad management. Bowling offers item and pendant rewards. | At HR 16, speak with Tetsuzan. |
| Arena and challenge quests | Arena Quests use predetermined equipment for up to two hunters and post rankings at the Expedition Record Board. Challenge Quests also use predetermined equipment for up to two hunters; Free Challenge Quests remove equipment restrictions and allow up to four. Support Hunters can accompany both. | Added with the update; the notes do not give a separate HR threshold. |
The update also added story, extra, and side missions; weapons, armor, skills, and status ailments; new pop-up camp gear, bounty categories, voice lines, poses, and gestures; and an Arena Log for profiles. The armor upgrade limit increased for rarity 5 and higher. Side missions unlock Alma outfit changes and glasses. Capcom’s March 25, 2025 announcement also described Alma’s outfit and classic-series gestures as free DLC.
How do you unlock Mizutsune, Zoh Shia, and the Grand Hub?
- For the Grand Hub: reach HR 16, then talk to Tetsuzan in Suja, Peaks of Accord.
- For Mizutsune: at HR 21 or above, speak to Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp and complete her extra mission.
- For Tempered Mizutsune: reach HR 41 or above and complete the extra mission that makes the hunt available.
- For High Rank Zoh Shia: reach HR 50 to unlock the story mission, which makes the hunt repeatable.
Which hunts and events arrived later?
Arch-tempered Rey Dau
Arch-tempered Rey Dau was not available on Title Update 1’s release date. Capcom scheduled its HR 50+ Event Quest for April 30, 2025; completing the hunt enables the Rey Dau γ and Felyne Rey Dau γ sets. Capcom’s announcement described the event schedule.

#1 Best Overall
- Wild New Adventure – Monster Hunter Wilds follows the story of a special Research Commission investigating the Forbidden Lands. Fully voiced for the first time in the series, the hunter is joined in their journey by a colorful cast of characters, including a Palico partner, Guild-appointed Handler Alma, trusty smithy Gemma, and the mysterious child Nata. Together, the team ventures into an unexplored new frontier where surprises await around every corner.
- A Living World – The Forbidden Lands spans multiple biomes with dynamic identities, such as the Windward Plains and Scarlet Forest, where the ecosystems shift between vibrant seasons brimming with life, and unforgiving climates where monsters fight over limited resources. Changes in the landscape will impact the creatures that live there and push hunters to adapt as well.
- New Monsters and Wildlife – Monster Hunter Wilds features a variety of new creatures, ranging from herds of small species to large monsters – some of which roam the Forbidden Lands in packs. Every creature hunters encounter in the wild has carved out a special place in its habitat and possesses unique attacks and behaviors.
- Players can also now ride atop the Seikret, an agile new mount enabling hunters to traverse difficult terrain, perform actions like sharpening weapons on the move, and switch between two weapons while out on hunts!
- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
Festival of Accord: Blossomdance
The Blossomdance festival took place in late April and early May 2025. Capcom’s announcement listed April 23–May 7, while the reproduced patch notes listed April 23–May 6, so the published sources differ on the end date.
What changed in the patch notes?
The notes cover multiple kinds of changes; these examples are not an exhaustive list. Icy Veins’ detailed reproduction and Windows Central’s reproduction provide the broader lists.
Rank #2
- Hunt giant nature-infused bests – Survive their attacks, learn from their behaviors, and use your Karakuri and your weapons in combination to cut these creatures down to size.
- Craft your hunting grounds – You are the only one in Azuma able to wield the Karakuri technology.
- Hunt in a pack, or be a lone wolf – In WILD HEARTS you can face the Kemono alone or unite with up to two friends (or other players) to stalk and hunt your prey.
- Gear up to hunt, hunt to gear up – Create your character, then gather materials from each hunt and build an array of armor and weapons.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue in which a tent BBQ Grill sequence could leave the player unable to control their character.
- Addressed cases where monsters stopped moving or wounds disappeared.
- Fixed a crash that could occur after blocking a Gravios attack.
- Corrected mission item turn-ins and Event Quest side-mission progress, as well as an issue that could make Jin Dahaad disappear.
Weapon and equipment adjustments
- Lance thrust finishers became easier to land after a certain Focus Strike knockback, and a Hammer Focus Strike issue was corrected.
- Ranged attacks while riding a Seikret were adjusted for both bowguns.
- Rocksteady Mantle mitigation increased, as did the durations of the Mending and Evasion Mantles.
- Bow Dragon Piercer damage decreased, while Bow Power Volley elemental values and Thousand Dragons damage increased.
These are targeted changes, not a blanket buff or nerf to every weapon. The notes also state that some monster actions were adjusted.
Quality-of-life and Steam changes
- A Transfer Items option was added to the Provisions Stockpile menu, and control response in dialogue scenes was made quicker.
- Guild-point costs and rewards changed, and hunter profile edits became resettable.
- For Steam, the notes list VRAM-usage improvements and an upgraded DirectStorage version. They do not establish a measured performance gain or guarantee higher frame rates on a particular PC.
Are the update and its cosmetics free?
Capcom described the gameplay update as free and arriving at no additional cost. That does not mean every cosmetic item released around the same time was free: the announcement distinguished free Alma and gesture DLC from paid Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, which was available to Cosmetic DLC Pass owners. The pass was included with Premium Deluxe Edition or could be purchased separately. Capcom’s announcement provides those distinctions.
