Set up that connection, choose an angle with a clear opening, then fire while targets are close enough for the bounces to matter.
How Moon Knight’s kit creates damage opportunities
Moon Knight’s central interaction is between Ancient Ankh and Crescent Dart. The Ankh pulls enemies within its radius toward its center. Crescent Dart attacks can bounce between enemies and Ankhs, so placing the Ankh where targets can be pulled into a cluster gives the bouncing attack more chances to connect.
Think of the Ankh as a setup tool, not merely another target to shoot at. Its placement shapes the space where enemies may bunch together; your dart angle and timing determine whether you can take advantage of that grouping. An ungrouped line of enemies does not offer the same bounce opportunities as opponents gathered around an Ankh.
How to use Crescent Dart and Ancient Ankh together
- Look for a grouping opportunity. Favor a moment when enemies are close enough to be affected together or are likely to move into the Ankh’s radius.
- Place Ancient Ankh to shape that space. The pull draws nearby enemies toward the center, creating the cluster that can support a chain of bounces.
- Take an angle with a clear line into the fight. Avoid firing from a position where cover or the enemy formation blocks your opportunity to connect with the grouped targets.
- Fire Crescent Darts while the opening is present. The attack can bounce between enemies and Ankhs; use the grouping window rather than treating every shot as a guaranteed chain.
This sequence is a practical reading of the documented abilities, not a guaranteed combo. Enemy movement, spacing, and the position of the Ankh all affect whether the bounce connections happen.

Choose timing and angles instead of forcing shots
A current third-party Moon Knight guide frames his pressure around attacking from an angle while a teammate creates the timing window. In practice, that means watching for a distraction, engagement, or other opening before exposing yourself to fire. An angle is useful when it lets you attack the Ankh’s grouped targets without simply shooting into a spread-out formation.
- When enemies are grouped near an Ankh: look to exploit the bounce interaction while the cluster remains in range.
- When enemies are spread out: prioritize a better position or wait for a teammate’s engagement rather than expecting the same chain value.
- When the fight has no opening: avoid treating repeated direct fire as a substitute for setup and timing.
What changed in the August 2026 balance update
In its Version 20260807 balance post, published August 4, 2026, Marvel Rivals changed the damage decay for Crescent Dart and Moon Blade bounces from 30% to 20% per bounce. This is the latest Moon Knight-specific balance post identified as of October 8, 2026; it should not be read as confirmation that no newer general patch has since affected him. The post’s introductory line was: “Khonshu’s avatar leaps with greater grace, and his crescent darts retain more lunar lethality on the bounce.” Read the Version 20260807 balance post.

The post describes an enhanced effect that heals Moon Knight for 20 health per second for 3 seconds after he leaves the Phased state. These are Team-Up changes, not additions to Moon Knight’s base kit.
Earlier, the official June 9, 2026 balance post reduced Crescent Dart’s single-shot damage from 25 to 23 and Moon Blade damage from 80 to 70, while changing bounce damage attenuation from 80% to 70% per bounce. Those are earlier Season 8.5 changes; for the later bounce-decay change, use the August 4 post rather than repeating the older figure as current. Read the June 9 balance post.
