Motorsport Manager 2 is an unreleased PC game planned for Steam in 2027. Playsport Games is promising a broader team-management sandbox, more reactive race strategy, changing weather across a circuit, and motorbike racing alongside single-seater, GT, and endurance championships. Those are announced features, not a verdict on a finished game: the Steam listing says it is not yet available, and no exact release date has been announced.
What do you actually do in Motorsport Manager 2?
You take the role of team principal, building a racing operation and making decisions both between events and during race weekends. Playsport says you will hire drivers, develop parts, manage staff, grow young talent, expand headquarters, balance finances, and plan for the long term. The official Steam description adds facilities, relationships between drivers and staff, contracts, team orders, changing regulations, and power-unit development.
You can also create a team identity through an announced livery editor and custom-team setup. The pitch is not simply to choose a fast car: it is to guide a team through personnel, technical, financial, and sporting trade-offs, then respond when the race does not unfold as planned.
What is new in the sequel?
Motorbike racing joins the series
Single-seater, GT, and endurance racing return, while motorbike racing is a new discipline for the series. The Steam listing says bikes will have their own riders, teams, championships, and challenges. Top Gear’s preview describes open-wheel cars in an F1 style, endurance prototypes, and bikes; those descriptions are comparisons of format, not confirmation of licensed championships.

Race strategy is designed to react to events
Playsport says rivals will adapt their strategy as race events unfold rather than simply stick to a preset plan. Players will make calls on car setup, pit strategy, tyres, and energy deployment while weighing traffic, fuel, car condition, and weather. The Steam description points to undercuts, overcuts, safety cars, pit stops, and tyre timing as parts of the strategic picture.
Weather can vary around the circuit
The Steam listing describes moving weather systems that can change conditions in different parts of a track, potentially making timing and tyre choices more complicated than responding to one uniform forecast. Top Gear reports seeing weather-radar maps in previewed gameplay. The developer’s description and the preview report are evidence of what has been presented so far, not confirmation of how the finished simulation will perform.

Mod support is promised from day one
Playsport says mod support is being built in from launch and anticipates community-made championships, teams, drivers, racing worlds, challenges, and vehicles. Top Gear also reports day-one support and says a prominent modder of the original game joined the design team. The specific tools, technical limits, and distribution method have not been detailed in the reviewed announcements.
What the preview suggests about race-day presentation
Top Gear reports seeing driver errors and cars running onto the grass in previewed gameplay, as well as weather radar and deeper livery customisation. Those observations suggest the presentation aims to show more than a race unfolding as a predictable sequence of strategy prompts. They remain preview impressions: there is no basis yet to treat them as an independent test or proof of final feature quality.

Is Motorsport Manager 2 officially licensed?
No. Playsport describes the game as unlicensed and says real motorsport is an inspiration rather than a licensing constraint. That allows the series to create fictional teams and championships, and fits with its stated emphasis on community mods. It does not mean official Formula 1, MotoGP, or other real-world series names and teams are included.
The Playsport Team’s official announcement puts the design rationale this way: “We remain an unlicensed game, freedom is one of the biggest advantages of Motorsport Manager 2.” The statement is attributed to the team, not to a named individual.

When and where can you play it?
Playsport Games is developing Motorsport Manager 2 for PC, with Steam as the announced platform. Miniclip is listed as publisher on Steam. Both the official announcement and Steam listing give 2027 as the planned release year; Steam currently says the game is not yet available. No exact launch date is established, so 2027 should be read as a target rather than a guaranteed date.
In its September 30 update, Playsport introduced the first trailer and announced a monthly “From The Pit Wall” developer-diary series running toward launch. The game remains in development, so features described by the studio may change before release.

What to take from the announcement
The sequel’s announced scope is broad: long-term team building, driver and staff management, car development, and race strategy across four motorsport disciplines, with bikes newly joining the series. The most distinctive promises so far are event-responsive rivals, track-wide weather changes, and day-one mod support. Whether those systems deliver on the pitch cannot be judged until the game is available.
