Muus Collective announced a $5 million seed round in October 2022 to develop fashion-focused mobile games and digital collectibles. The Los Angeles studio later wound down after failing to secure additional funding, according to a July 2025 report by PocketGamer.biz.
What Muus Collective announced
GamesBeat reported in October 2022 that Muus had raised $5 million in a seed round led by Griffin Gaming Partners. The studio said it was preparing its first Web3-enabled mobile game and developing fashion-oriented games and digital collectibles. These were plans at the time of the announcement, not confirmation that a game launched.
Muus cofounder and CEO Amber Bezahler described blockchain as an optional layer rather than a condition of play: “We want to raise the crypto fluency of our player base in a game where it is fun, but not make it mandatory to the core gameplay,” GamesBeat reported.
What the game and brand partnership were meant to do
The stated creative focus was fashion and self-expression, with digital collectibles and Web3 features intended to support the experience rather than define its core gameplay. Griffin Gaming Partners’ managing director Emily Wang framed the investment around what she saw as an opportunity at the intersection of gaming, fashion, and Web3: “Consumer demand exceeds supply at the intersection of gaming, fashion, and Web3,” she said. That was the investor’s thesis, not an independently established market finding.

Muus also announced a collaboration with REVOLVE. In an announcement carried by Nasdaq, REVOLVE said the planned integration would include digital playable renderings of fashion and beauty items from REVOLVE and FWRD. Chief Brand Officer Raissa Gerona described the collaboration as a way to bring REVOLVE’s network into Web3 gaming and reach new audiences. The announcement establishes an intended integration; it does not establish that the game or integration launched, or that physical products were sold through the game. Nasdaq carried the partnership announcement.
Why Griffin Gaming Partners invested
Griffin’s public rationale centered on the overlap between gaming, fashion, and Web3. Wang’s comment reflected the firm’s view of consumer demand in that area. It should be read as an explanation of the investment, not proof that Muus had already found a large audience or validated its business model.

GamesBeat’s 2022 coverage also cited two historical market figures: the Blockchain Game Alliance reported $2.3 billion in NFT game revenue in the third quarter of 2021, as relayed by GamesBeat; and GamesBeat reported that top mobile fashion titles had earned more than half a billion dollars over their lifetimes. The first is a quarter-specific figure from 2021, not a current market measure. GamesBeat did not identify a specific original data publisher for the mobile-fashion figure, so it should be attributed to that report rather than treated as independently verified market data.
