Neither controller is an automatic winner: hand preference, the games you play and whether you use other platforms matter. The most consequential practical difference for PS5 players is the loss of DualSense effects on the Nacon.
How important are haptics and adaptive triggers to you?
DualSense Edge keeps the supported DualSense effects
Sony says the Edge includes DualSense features—haptic feedback and adaptive triggers among them—in supported titles. These effects are game-dependent, but if you value them, the Edge is the straightforward choice. Sony’s DualSense Edge feature page
Revolution 5 Pro gives up PS5 vibration
Nacon says the Revolution 5 Pro has neither haptic feedback nor vibration in PS5 games. Nacon specifies that vibration is available in PC and PS4 games, but that does not restore DualSense effects on PS5. Its licensed PS5 compatibility should not be mistaken for feature parity with a DualSense controller. Nacon’s support FAQ

Which layout and controls fit your play style?
Pick the layout your hands prefer
The Revolution 5 Pro uses an asymmetric stick layout; the Edge follows the familiar DualSense-style layout. This is a personal comfort preference, not a performance ranking. If possible, try the layout you are considering before committing.
Nacon: Hall effect sticks, triggers and rear shortcuts
Nacon specifies magnetic Hall effect technology for both sticks and triggers, and adjustable trigger travel. It also provides four rear shortcut buttons. In Classic mode, Nacon support describes remapping the four shortcuts and adjusting trigger travel; Advanced mode in the app offers over 60 setting variations. These are configuration options, not proof that every player will find setup easier.

Hall effect sensing is a useful design distinction, but it is not a guarantee against every control problem. Nacon’s support page notes that a Y-axis inversion issue associated with joystick drift was resolved by a firmware update. It also warns that FPS Pro mode can cause slight drift if a stick does not center exactly. Check Nacon’s current support instructions and firmware before changing setup modes.
Edge: customizable controls and stored profiles
Sony describes customizable controls and swappable profiles on the DualSense Edge. Choose it if those features matter alongside retaining supported DualSense effects. The available official feature descriptions do not establish a measured advantage in response time or ease of configuration for either controller.

Do you need PS4 or PC compatibility?
Revolution 5 Pro works across PS5, PS4 and compatible PC games
Nacon lists the controller for PS5, PS4 and PC, but its PC support is conditional: games must support XInput, and Mac is not supported. Wireless console play uses the included dedicated receiver; despite the product page’s multipoint wireless description, Nacon says the controller does not connect to the console through Bluetooth. DualSense Edge works on PC, with feature limits
Sony documents PC connection by USB or Bluetooth. Sony’s PC footnote says haptics and adaptive triggers may require USB, and the controller’s function buttons only switch profiles already stored on the controller. If you want to configure or use those features on PC, do not assume they behave exactly as they do on PS5. Sony’s PC compatibility notes

Battery, waking the console and day-to-day ownership
Battery figures are not a fair head-to-head comparison
Nacon estimates 10 hours or more for the Revolution 5 Pro, depending on power settings. That is a manufacturer estimate, not an independent test. Sony’s reviewed Edge page does not give a comparable battery figure, so the available figures do not establish which lasts longer.
Neither Nacon wireless compatibility nor its receiver replaces the wake function
Nacon says only a Sony DualSense can wake a PS4 or PS5. If you choose the Revolution 5 Pro, expect to use another method to turn on the console rather than relying on this controller.

Replacement parts and package details
Sony identifies a replaceable stick module for the Edge. Nacon says spare parts will be available through its MyNacon portal, but its product FAQ’s “stay tuned” wording does not confirm present stock or price; check the portal before relying on a replacement being available. Nacon product FAQ
Nacon’s start guide lists a storage case, two D-pads, joystick rings, six weights, six joystick heads, an external microphone, a 3 m USB-C cable and a USB dongle as package contents. Which controller should you choose?
Choose the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro if…
- You prefer an asymmetric stick layout.
- Hall effect sticks and triggers, adjustable trigger travel and four rear shortcuts are priorities.
- You want a controller that also supports PS4 and XInput-compatible PC games.
- You are willing to give up PS5 vibration and haptics and to keep the dedicated wireless receiver available.
Choose the DualSense Edge if…
- You want haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in supported PS5 games.
- You prefer the DualSense-style layout and want customizable controls with stored profiles.
- A replaceable stick module is important to your ownership decision.
- You plan to use it on PC and can work within Sony’s USB and profile-switching caveats for some features.
