When did NBA 2K23 servers go down?
NBA 2K23 online services retired on December 31, 2024. 2K’s Online Services Status page, updated September 14, 2026, lists the game as retired. The December 31 date is in the past, not an upcoming shutdown.

What can you still play in NBA 2K23?
2K lists these offline modes for NBA 2K23:

This is the title-level list on 2K’s status page; it does not establish platform-specific differences. 2K Support says, “If you already own an older game, you will still be able to redownload and play offline modes.” See its NBA 2K: Server Sunsets guidance.
Will MyCAREER or MyTEAM still work?
No. 2K’s sunset guidance says MyCAREER and MyTEAM are unavailable after a game’s online services retire. Players also can no longer earn Virtual Currency (VC) in NBA 2K23.

Which online features no longer work?
Multiplayer, Online Leagues, community sharing and other features that depend on the retired servers are unavailable. Buying or finding another copy cannot restore these services; that follows from 2K’s notice that they have retired.

2K says NBA 2K24 and earlier titles are discontinued and no longer available for purchase through the channels covered by its notice. That does not establish whether third-party sellers have copies available. If you consider a used or physical copy for offline play, check that it is compatible with your platform and confirm the seller’s condition and availability. A copy does not bring back online features.
